Snowboarding/Skiing

So i went snowboarding with school in April and FUCKING Loved it, hopefully going next year with school aswell.

You could have chosen Snowboarding or Skiing, and im so glad i picked SB. Skiing looked so boring. All they done was ski across the slope at slow speed and all together. Where as us Snowboarders went down the hill at speed and could make much more snow sprays when we stopped :). We didnt like do tricks where we jumped up massive ramps into a 1020" spin as i was in the beginners group but i loved it so much.

They made like a DVD and various pictures of us, and i've watched it about 20 times (2 hours long) in about a week. It just reminds me of it so much, i cant wait to go back. It felt like home. (I live in England, so there isnt exactly Snow resorts around)

Anyone ever been? or have any videos?

I love watching them board or ski down a massive cliff with loads of Off-Piste sprays etc.

Yea Shaun White is like the person who made Snowboarding Famous i think.

He has mastered it and won so many awards doing it. He is like the Tiger Woods of Snowboarding.

Red Bull Built him his own private halfpipe ect.

And yeh i saw a video of him when he was 11 and 13, doing tricks and turns ect! How does a 11 year old supposed to be doing that lol.

Always wanted to go on a snowboard or ski holiday, but sadly my whole family is 'handicapped', pretty big injuries in their muscles, back and legs etc, and never had the money to go to it, so still waiting to do it.

I like to see the snowboard races, more then really the 'slalom/cross', just like it more when u have a head to head competition, then really racing vs the clock.

Also for skiing, really love biatlon, when I was young always sat for the TV for hours watching all the Biatlon races on Eurosport, love the combi of relaxful shooting + trying to skii as fast as u can.

See i hate watching them compete trying to do big tricks for score, or races.

I love watching them explore and jump off a cliff and land it and carry on going. GoProHD do quite a few of these. And yeah same. Majority of my family are overweight and lazy and would never go. Im lucky that my school go yearly. However next year is my last year, and i dunno if i would go again. Its not something i would like to do on my own.

You think snowboarding is better than skiing, yet you went on a holiday with a beginners group fair enough you've just started but u can't knock skiing from watching shit people.

I do freestyle skiing and have been on two holidays, boarders just get in your way when your on skiis cos they think they own the fucking snow parks. Fair enough boarding looks easier cos it is for freestyle, but skiing is better and that's from trying both. You can do alot more different stuff with skiing, like when i was in Canada at Whistler off piste terrain skiing is so much fun and it just isn't possible on a snowboard.

I've been snowboarding for like 6 years but didn't go to austria this year cause my friends had other plans.. it's awesome I used to skateboard before so it was obvious I picked snowboarding over skiing and I learned it pretty quickly.

iv been skiing twice a year for over 10 years now. if you think skiing is slower and less exilerating then snowboarding you are so wrong!

The professionals that was there on skii's was obviously going down the hill faster then snow boarders. However it just looked so boring. I couldn't imagine doing it. And the boarders looked badass haha

I love both snowboarding and skiing. I've been snowboarding for years. What boards do you guys have? I have a Burton Floater 163 with 2011 Burton Freestyle bindings. So much fun to ride!

I go every year with my college class

500euros for a week, trip, food and ski/SB rental included (in a pretty big resort each time too)
