cody Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 As some of you know, Well only those whom I seem to talk to daily. I've started a band, it has no real intention to go far. It's just a few friends and I, fucking around. Making music we enjoy. I need to know if this microphone I've selected will do these things for me. - Sound beastly, like a actual studio. - Will connect to my computer to mix the tracks - Does it come with a base :S? Thanks. View the microphone here.

cody Posted July 15, 2011 Author Posted July 15, 2011 better be playing music like bullet for my valentine I<3BFMV. But it'll probably be a little more hardcore than bfmv =]
Blitz Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 Try using a Blue Snowball/Yeti. I know it works incredibly well for voice recording over game commentaries etc, then again with your sort of music i don't know how it'll cope.

Doubt it, I'm looking more so for a recording sound :S thanks for the contribution though =]
poet Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 ell mate. dont tell me your gona be screeching in the mic and yelling etc....
Freebased Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 I'm in a band, same genre as you're doing, and I use the, SM58, works good for me :)
Octavarium Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 It would work and work well for a variety of instruments. It comes with a stand and cable too according to the specifications but you pay extra. Will it sound beastly? Well that is such an open question when it comes to sound recording. The answer would be no when you compare it with say a ribbon mic but of course like all the best equipment in music these will cost you upwards of $2000. However, if you set your mic placements correctly, record it cleanly in a good environment and mix it accordingly you will make it sound nice. Everything is to your preference when it comes to music. PAY ATTENTION! If YOU think it sounds good then it sounds good. I can't really answer the question properly, you'll just have to use your ears. I guarentee that it won't sound with the same quality as your favourite artists though. The output for this microphone is an XLR and computers don't come with that input. You'll need to buy an aaudio interface which will work with the softwar you use to record to connect it to your pc/mac. I've only ever used protools to record so I've only ever used things like tthese. Like all things to do with sond recording, you can't really ask for opinion, you just have to try it and see if you like it. I suggest going to an actual music store, checking if they have the microphone and asking them about what eqipment you'll need. Then see if you can try it out in the shop. That's how I buy all my guitars, there's no difference with mics.
Octavarium Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 Actaully Mori, it can. Just be sure to set a low gain whilst recording.
