Royal Naval Psychometric test

Hey guys, next thursday i have my RNPT (Joining the royal marines).

Its basically a cognitive ability test/IQ Test.

Ranging from mechanic comprehension, to literacy to numeracy.

Does anybody have any hints/tips on them? or any websites which may prove useful?

I know people are gonna spam shit, but this is something real life, and could actually make a difference to my future so any help would be greatly appreiciated.

I did the Aptitude test for the raf regiment back in January. It's a piece of piss mate, I'd say, get a physics textbook from your college or whatever and just look over electrical stuff, mechanical comprehension is fucking easy it's just common sense - but the electric one requires a bit more knowledge.

Verbal reasoning - buy a book of logic puzzles and give em a bash

The maths section is piss easy, just adding up decimals and fractions and stuff, like what is 1/4 + 1/3 or 1.2+5.6 .. Simple shit

Erm.. What else is there, memory, pretty standard, if it's the same as ours you get shown sequences of squares on a grid for a matter of seconds, then asked to draw the sequence of squares on a grid given to you, and it gets harder as it progresses, so just practise quick memory really, get a friend to help you on that one.

That's all the stuff that helped me, if theres any sections I forgot or anything else you need help on just give me a shout buddy.

And I'll tell you now, there's 3 ex-marines on our course, we're 4 weeks into the training now so we've only got a few more weeks of bullshit left, just take everything on the chin once you're there mate. You can spend all night ironing your kit and polishing your boots, but they'll just tell you its shit and screw it up, they tied knots in my kit and threw it out the window. But it's just to see how you react, see if you've got the morale to carry on, stick it out buddy the end product will be worth it. Best of luck

Cheers sam, i did the aptitude test for the RAF abit ago, i struggled on the memory one haha, i was gonna have to go to cranwell for the 8 hour aptitude test but decided i didn't want to join the RAF.

And yeah ive heard they do stuff to piss you off haha.

Ill keep people who are interested in my progress updated. It's gonna be very difficult but worth it :)
