I heard that doing your push-ups slower increases muscle use. Has anyone heard the same?

Physics would tell you that you use the same ammount of energy no matter how fast you expend it. You can just expend more of it in less time.

If by slower you mean better form and full ROM then yeah it would probably.

But push ups can only do so much unless you have freak genetics.

not going to bother explaining various scientific facts about rep timing to a mug thats just going to do a few pressups on his bedroom floor and then ask why he's not the hulk yet.

Well yes, you probably would feel it more doing 10 pressups slow mo, then doing it standard speed.

But pressups wont get you big, only help with toning.

I never really did push ups when I used to work out... Not something I really found useful.

And I didn't ask for a fucking pathetic sarcastic answer, I just wanted to know what if it was true or not. Thanks for being SO helpful... ffs
