Casey` Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Windows has lots of restrictions on what you can do.... Linux is totally different
Octavarium Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Linux is a superior operating system but you can still do a lot of advanced things in windows. Linux can also be a bastard when you accidently do something you didn't want to do and your pc breaks. I can't hack shit though, never really tried. Computer Misuse Act and all...
Tango_Oscar Posted August 11, 2011 Author Posted August 11, 2011 So if u know what ur doing, u use linux :p
Casey` Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Linux is more for developers and people who know what they're doing because you can tweak literally everything on Linux without restrictions and junk u digg

Octavarium Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 You want to bounce your IPs to many different locations too
Swag Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Linux > Windows. I personally use windows mostly but I also use Linux on my VM and it can be confusing as fuck. As for the people hacking and terms of getting caught, majority of people know what they're doing in terms of not getting caught but it IS possible still, if the FBI want to track you, they will. People generally use SSL tunnels & hacked servers as VPN's so there's no logs and they use TOR for browsing. I'd advise not to get too deep into the scene though because it's not worth getting arrested and ruining your future over a little bit of fame. On the other hand, if it really does interest you, learn about it, practice it in a legal manner and become an ethical hacker for businesses, Very good money ^_^

There's also multiple tests ect online so you can get an idea of your knowledge.

Octavarium Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Not attacking/defacing others is still not ethical... computer misuse act 1990 states of any unauthorised access to another person's computer is prosecutable, regardless of whether you even did anything. There's also unauthorised access with intent to commit offence and the actual modification of data.
Marc|Criti Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 but there are offenses the cops won't even bother sending you an email about
