Dan| High Rating Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Ok, so I was deadlifting yesterday and on my last set got this horrible spasm in my neck and dropped the weight. Woke up this morning and can't turn my neck left without being in a lot of pain. Its not as bad as it was this morning but still. Basically, anyone had this before/ got any advice on how to stop it happening again and how to recover faster? thanks.
Steroids Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 recovering from that? rest. next time - cardio warm-up, no jerking. recently iv been getting back spasms outside of the gym. when im reversing my car at anytime and looking out the back window i sometimes get some horrible pain in lower back and cant move it for few secs lol. pretty sure that's an issue more for a doctor though, (urs may also be if rest doesn't help).
Zz Nektas Zz Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 I had it some times but what i did was take a hot shower and then fall in beed sleep or just Doing some stuff on my phone. And what steroids said Cardio Warm up :P Edit : theres somethng Called TigerBalsem it may will help.
Dan| High Rating Posted August 12, 2011 Author Posted August 12, 2011 ok cheers, usually do cardio warm up and I did this time, maybe not for long enough tho. Will see in a few days if its better and if it happens again. Seems to be improving tho since this morning. Just need to make sure it doesn't happen again because its kinda scary dling and dropping the weight because of that.
Spittles (Old School) Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 recovering from that? rest. next time - cardio warm-up, no jerking. This and stretch well before you work out.
gfdgfd Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 im no bodybuilder/doctor but seems like a pinched nerve/pulled muscle, just rest.
Reevesy Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 im no bodybuilder/doctor but seems like a pinched nerve/pulled muscle, just rest. i got one in my middle-upper back from shrug machine before, hurt when i breathed, just keep training but avoid what you did that hurt it in the first place, rehabilitate it with mobility exercises and neck stretches etc.
Dan| High Rating Posted August 13, 2011 Author Posted August 13, 2011 mostly better now, just a lil stiffness. Going to make sure to increase my warm up slightly and stretch my neck out properly. Since bulking I have been kinda slacking off on the warm ups. thanks for the replies.
