Lat Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 I need your guys' help here. I want to start doing body weight workouts (no equipment) I am going to purchase a pull up bar for pull ups and chin ups. What other exercises can I do? (other than sit ups, crunches, push ups) I want to do this because I want to get rid of my 20 lbs of fat (currently 18% body fat) and the reason why I don't want to hit the gym ( I was at the gym for 2 months, then stopped) is because I'm too lazy to get to the gym, and because I'm 5'4, and I don't want to bulk the fuck up, I just want to put on a bit of lean muscle and get down to like 7% body fat. EDIT: it's not that I'm too lazy to get to the gym, it's just that it's pretty far, I would have to walk for like 45 mins there and back, or bus it. Also, I don't want to pay for it lolz.
Reevesy Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 buy a bike, bodyweight stuff is crap. if ur strong enough.. do 'muscle ups' lol
Steroids Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 cardio/diet will be the main factor, without them u simply wont succeed any time soon. those bodyweight exercises will help, but barely tbh.
Lat Posted August 20, 2011 Author Posted August 20, 2011 Yeah I'm on a protein/natural fats/fibre/low carb diet (permanent, not a diet) and I will be running like 2-4 miles each day. So should I just do cardio then? And how long do you think it will take for me to get to 7% body fat? I'm 166 5'4 19 y/o 18% body fat
Steroids Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 make sure ur eating 500 cals less than recommended. as much high intensity cardio as u can do would be best.
Smush Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 You're not going to go from 18% to 7% by using bodyweight exercises. Hit the gym and don't be lazy.
Spittles (Old School) Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 I agree with Reevesy, purchase a bike that way you can lose body fat and still be able to gain muscle once you head to the gym. The bike ride pretty much is your cardio.

The bike ride pretty much is your cardio. I got like one month left of my gym membership, how far would I get in that month? You're not going to go from 18% to 7% by using bodyweight exercises. Hit the gym and don't be lazy. l2read bro, I will also be doing cardio
Tango_Oscar Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 45 min walk, thats like 3-4 miles? rofl my gym is 8 mile each way, i jog it every other day, bike the other days. Bored of lazy mugs, just get a cheap bike, start running, or get on ur sk8board son. bodyweight exercises are wank and your muscles will stagnate if your doing the same shit every day
Reevesy Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 u can do as much in that month as u allow urself

I guess I should have been more specific.
Kofte Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Only ones that are good are: Pull ups, chin ups, dips, and muscle ups. You can add weight by putting a backpack on and put heavy items/objects in it

You can add weight by putting a backpack on and put heavy items/objects in it are they any good without adding weight though? everyone seems to think they won't help much. I see ripped guys all the time that just do pull ups and push ups and stuff. Like a jet lee type of build, not insanely built but decent.

Backham Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Weight lifting is most popular body weight exercise. It makes your body lines and body shape lines faster and make you strong. Weight lifting is good for making body muscle bot too much weight lifting also very dangerous to your body and health.
