Adam|Note Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2011/08/13/report-911-first-responders-not-invited-to-10th-anniversary-ceremony-at-ground-zero/ Just heard NYC police and firefighters that served at the twin towers on 9/11 will *not* be invited to the 10th anniversary in a few days at Ground Zero. Apparently there isn't enough room for them, but no doubt worthless politicians will be given a seat. It's a fucking disgrace the people who put their lives on the line will have to watch it on TV. Thoughts?
Octavarium Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 That is truly terrible. They've got it backwards.
DeltaPapa Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Wow.. id be so mad. They fought for peoples lives, and risked their own for it
Gareth l Rare Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Did the politicians help dig up and help? No Thats fucked up man......
MikeQ Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 The fucked up part is that the responders are not adequately compensated for health problems which resulted from inhaling toxic chemicals following the attacks. Many of them have serious respiratory problems, while a few have died from causes directly related to their work that day. Yet politicians, primarily republicans, continue to point to 9/11 to rally patriotism in support of unjust wars and security measures. 'merica
Jessica Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 3qHiqcb8sCY ^ Replace "liberals" with "politicians". Truly pathetic, if I was a politician I'd gladly give up my place for someone who actually made a difference after 9/11.

Env Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 There were 91,000 first responders on 9/11, how the fuck do you expect to fit all these people into a location that is a mere couple square blocks? The victims' families were the first to be invited as they should have been. And that article states that only a handful of politicians will be allowed to attend anyways. Plus, first responders will be given their own ceremony later. So what's the fuss?
