I prefer the term assimilation. If you move from one place to the other you better respect the laws, customs, and culture of that area. The government should not have to interfere in the daily lives of citizens to try to ameliorate the lives of newcomers.

The newcomers should be active and try to participate and develop the community rather than isolate the community.

Why would we "The people" have anything to do with controlling it. It's the officials who's job it is to fix this sort of thing. I think that the people who are here already should stay, but strengthen the restrictions on coming to the country. Obviously it would be seriously fucked to not let someone into the country just because they are different. But at the same time, something needs to happen; over population is a serious problem.

Ok, firstly, when I was referring to 'those people' I was referring to the politicians quoted in the OP criticising multiculturalism. Yes something does need to happen, but in the UK, at least, multiculturalism (especially immigration from eastern Europe) has kept our inflation down and kept us competitive in the manufacturing and financial sector. Its not as straightforward as just barring people from coming into your country who have different cultures etc.. especially for countries in the EU with our ridiculous immigration policies lol.

That's the problem with america right now... People get out of work, and get check from the government every month. WHICH IS FINE, to a point. But there are people who are abusing the system and living souly off of checks. It's costing out country billions and it's making lazy people get more lazy.

People need to have a cap on how much money they can get... That way they feel more inclined to find work rather than sitting on their asses all day eating cheetos naked sitting in a beanbag chair watching jersey shore.

This is what I support.

Cultural assimilation is a socio-political response to demographic multi-ethnicity that supports or promotes the assimilation of ethnic minorities into the dominant culture.

there are legal actions u can take regarding this.  if a company is hiring illegals, u can report them to the authorities.  also ur problem isnt illegals taking ur job, its u want to get paid more than the work is actually worth, as u can see, if someone is willing to work $10/hr for that job, its worth that much.  u dont deserve $25 or $30/hr for that particular job.

basically ur trying to turn shit jobs into careers because u did shit in school or something

I think it's worked to an extent. Polish people here fit in as regular hard workers, likewise with any other race which doesn't segregate itself. For example Pakistani heritage GENERALLY tend to stick with their own, same with most Chinese people (students who are new to the country in particular).

The abolition of Religion would help alot with multi-culturism I believe.
