Do you eat like chicken breasts and potatoes and shit or do you eat like fucking mcdonalds 7 days a week? I did look on bodybuilding.com but I just want as many answers as possible. Also, whats a dirty bulk?
I Meleed I Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 To bulk just eat at a surplus. Say you need 2500 calories a day to maintain your weight (the average male). Just eat anywhere from 500-1000 calories a day over that. Generally as long as you meet your protein macro's and eat at a surplus you'll be okay. Dirty bulk just relates to the food that you take in. Usually just peoples excuse to eat McDonalds or KFC and shit lol. Strong tip - eat a fuck load of oats.
Tris Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Your question is quite broad, there's a huge amount of information on bulking but I'll try point out some stuff I think is important. First off, if you want to bulk you need to work out your daily calorie intake: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm For instance mine is 2701 according to that calculator and in order to gain you need to eat over that maintenance level, hence why I'm eating anywhere between 3700-4500 calories a day. Protein and Carbs are what you want to be focusing on when bulking for muscle growth, however fats are important too for testosterone. If you take a look at the average meal plan for a body builder you'll see most of their meals consist of a lean meat, a complex carb and possibly some veges for example: "Supper - Two Grilled chicken sandwich on whole wheat bun, brown rice, and peas or corn with potato." I try to eat at least 5-6 meals a day consisting of 20-30 grams of protein per a meal. You want to aim for at least 1g of protein per every lbs you weigh, however myself and others would recommended 1.5g of protein per lbs, supplements such as whey protein will help you reach this with pre and post workout consumption. You may see that as no weight but adding 17-21lbs or 9~ kilos of meat as muscle onto your frame makes you keen does it not?

You can count every calorie you eat, but seeing as you're in high school, (15) most students don't have the time, money, or patience .. You can dirty bulk, but you'll probably put on fat. Dirty bulking is associated with fast food and junk food. It all depends on the person, but for me, I love fast food and my BF is still low. Don't over complicate things, just eat and lift.
