Octavarium Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Seeing as this is obviously what you want, talk about your favourite wrestling stars, favourite matchups, favourite corporations and chairmans. Favourite Wrestler: RVD Favourite Match Ever: RVD vs Jeff Hardy Ladder Match for Hardcore Championship MRosQkSAqg8 3YdvL_F09-I The way rob sells that ddt at 3:30 in part 2 is why he is so fantastic. The athleticism, high risk, agility and versatility in this match was incredible. Favourite Chairman/Promoter: Paul Heyman He was influential in bringing talent into WCW, set up ECW and brought it to mainstream as well as managing Brock Lesnar to bring him to the top. He's also a hilarious commentator. Without him, wrestling wouldn't be where it is today. Favourite Corporation: ECW That shit was real back in the day. It wasn't broadcast before midnight and it was fucking brilliant. Favourite Diva: Stacy Keibler Favourite Tag Team: Dudley Boyz Most successful Tag Team in wrestling history, I think they have 18 tag team titles across 4 corporations. D'VON!! GET THE TABLES qzWlPmHA8i4 Bracing myself for the Rock and John Cena.
Blitz Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Heh, sorry for ruining your RVD topic in OT. Didn't see the need for the unprovoked flame though. OT: Not watched it in fucking ages, watched the most recent PPV event though, whichever one it was, used to watch it religiously when i was young, remember Filthy Animals when Rey Mysterio was in them, masked Kane, etc. Wrestler: Triple H - Love the guy. Match: Can't really remember all the oldschool ones, most recent i've watched - SbiW9DmxMQs Commentator: JR, no questions. Fuck Tazz. Diva: Kelly Kelly, used to be Candice, and before Candice, Lita <3 Tag Team: DX. snW-5AHxYTA
Octavarium Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 It wasn't unprovoked, you were being annoying. Jr is so good. "AS GOD AS MY WITNESS, HE IS BROKEN IN HALF!" I loved Lita, was always a hardy boyz fan and she came out with that thong on and pants low I was like omg omg omg omg omg... I still am.
Gareth l Rare Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Tag Team: DX. snW-5AHxYTA Best tag team combo everĀ  when S.M left WWF wasnt the same...... +1 love if you spend all year 3 doing the "DX suck it" to girls
Adam|Note Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 :o I'm gonna stray a little off of the entertainment side of wrestling and ask if anyone on these forums has taken wrestling in high school/college?
Octavarium Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 I haven't done it no, It isn't an option for me. If it was, I'd have done it and then probably never played scape and met you guys so I'm glad I didn't.
Gareth l Rare Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Closest thing i did was throwing all my clothes and bed covers on the floor and choke slamming my bro ect or fly kicking people down the stairs when they annoyed me..... looking back on it i was a little shit when i was younger :o suprised no1 died
Blitz Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 ^ Closest i did was Swanton off some thing into a ball pit at Wacky Warehouse when i was like eight
Gareth l Rare Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Oh no everyone did swantons/backflips ect on bouncy castles/ball pits at Mc d's but i mean hard ground
Smush Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Lol pro wrestling isn't a sport, why is this even here? It's fake, get this crap off. It's a spit on the face of real wrestling, I wrestle at the varsity level, but this is just horribly scripted TV.
Octavarium Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 Hey Smush, I bet you couldn't do any of what they can do. How about you FUCK OFF
Smush Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Well yeah, for one I'm not a bad actor. I'll give them credit, dudes can fly. If you consider pro wrestling a sport you are DELUSIONAL. I thought you had a little more common sense than that. It's scripted entertainment, please tell me you don't think it's real. edit: But I did enjoy WWE and WWF back in the day. Still not a sport though.
Bullet Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Thank you for reminding me about Stacy Keibler.
Tom (Rendition) Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Never understood wrestling...........can somebody explain to me the entertainment value of it.
Octavarium Posted November 2, 2011 Author Posted November 2, 2011 Well yeah, for one I'm not a bad actor. I didn't say nor imply it's real. I love it, yes it's scripted but I tell you what. I took a look at my handy oxford dictionary and looked up this definion... sport Pronunciation:/spÉĖt/ noun an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment Is it an activity? Well yes, they're moving about and doing shit. Physical exertion? Well it's extremely demanding to run, jump etc for 20 mins. Skill? Some of these guys are the most athletic and talented people. Compete? It's a fight... Entertainment? I'm thoroughly entertained... and you liked the old WWE(F) too... As for old WWE I suggest you make the move over to TNA. Most recent main event featured: Sting, Scott Steiner, Jeff Hardy, Jerry Lynn, Rob Van Dam, Kurt Angle, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Bubba Ray Dudley... and it was fucking AWESOME!
Smush Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Fair play, but to be even fair, the WWE considers itself entertainment rather than an actual sport. Most definition of sports will have something along the lines of being competitive, the WWE can never be competitive because it's 100% scripted. But I did enjoy the days of Stone Cold Steve Austin and even Shawn Michaels.
gfdgfd Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 The most electrifying man in sports entertainment sadRv-xyVYk&autoplay=1
Adam|Note Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I have to agree with Smush, in order for it to be a sport there has to be some form of competition but I wont take away the fact these guys are mostly great athletes.
Octavarium Posted November 2, 2011 Author Posted November 2, 2011 Well I suppose that's why snooker, gold and darts are all considered sports now too. I'd rather this than those be sports. RVD vs Jerry Lynn in Bound for glory was so fucking sick. Van terminator off the top into a ladder. KO. also note, you think this move would be acceptable in MMA? K3swCickDTw
