Its not only about calories in calories out retard. I could eat 500g of sugar and be under maintenance for the day. That thought process you just tries to create is completely incompetent and flawed, stop spewing out bullshit, its not needed here. And no. Liquor is garbo. http://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/11/08/twinkie.diet.professor/index.html

It's simple if you want to gain weight eat 500 over maintenance, if you want to lose weight eat 500 under maintenance. It's pretty simple, and no one in their right mind would have 500g of sugar ... Cub, don't preach until you've actually cut. There are other variables in place, but that's the simple model.
Tris Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 It is a bit more complex then just calories in vs calories out if you look further into it. If you're looking to put on lean muscle obviously you're not going to eat junk on a daily basis to meet your calorie intake, you'll end up putting on a decent amount of fat which if your scrawny is not a bad thing. However if you're looking to make lean clean gains obviously you're going to be eating to a somewhat healthy standard with the possible cheat meal here and there. You may argue that dirty bulking is an acceptable way to go, and I have no reason to disagree that it isn't an effective way, but I much prefer a lean clean bulk with the possible slip up here and there compared to someone say eating Mc Donalds cheese burgers and fries on a daily basis to make 'fast' gains. The same applies to cutting, even if you eat under your maintenance level you aren't going to be scoffing down crisps and chocolate, it's a waste of calories; you need the protein, fats and carbs still to workout effectively and help maintain muscle mass. Take a look at all the nutrition schemes that people post on bodybuilding/muscleandstrength, most rely on clean lean food.
Steroids Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 lol ok guys go eat 3k empty calories a day and tell me you're progress in a year. complex carbs / protein / essential fats are VITAL, its really not all about calories. dirty bulking is fine because you don't dirty bulk on chocolate, u do it with pizza's / burgers or w.e that are actually full of the nutrients that benefit us.
gfdgfd Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 oatmeal with whey mixed in eggs sounds nasty lol no nastier than mixing the whey with milk tbh, I spose I may as well just have the oatmeal plain and have a shake on the side but I usually have both

Walli Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 "most important meal, other than post workout.. I eat eggs/oats. If you want something fast try whey/casine shake with oats in them :$" u sure did rawr

gfdgfd Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 why would any1 here be talking about gaining weight from anything other than muscle tho :S
SkidooosH Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 why would any1 here be talking about gaining weight from anything other than muscle tho :S i was meaning if you eat more calories you WILL gain fat, you can eat more calories of healthy foods and you WILL GAIN FAT. and you can eat low calorie amount of junk foods and you WILL LOSE FAT. that is why calories in vs. calories out is so important.

Nope. Eating like a pig is derp if you aren't in special education courses, you should seriously look into it
