I'd like to think I have friends, but you can't ever really be sure.  I just visited old teachers in our local highschool that I attended and I overheard a child (15-) talking about how he wants to straighten his hair, and go black so he could be friends with the kids who "express" themselves by wearing all black, and giving viscous looks like they might choke someone out with their chain pants lol.

I'm just flabbergasted, that is all it amounts to, when I was in school, it was real groups of friends, and even then I'm not friends with 60% of the people I was friends with.  So I'm just going to take a swing here: If you join a  group of people in school, just because you think you're a menace, and need to be seen as an outcast, your journey will end in regret and shame.  The populations depends souly on Facebook, and other social networks to tie up all of the links and social skills we as humans have destroyed over our course.
