Tom (Rendition) Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I only realised about an hour ago, but whenever I take a deep breath it doesn't feel like I'm taking much oxygen in and there is a sharpish pain where my ribs meet my stomach, just left of centre. I was thinking it could be a punctured lung, but it doesn't seem that severe, unless exerting myself I'm having no problems breathing. Gonna take myself down to the doctors tomorrow morning, just wondering if you guys had any idea?
Bullet Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 ive had it before a few times, usually went away within a few hours though.
Tom (Rendition) Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 lol wtf? From sparring. Phone NHS direct, they said go A&E. Seems a bit OTT, but not gonna ignore them.
Wopah Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I had something similar, I just ignored it and it went away next day.

Tris Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I sometimes get this after a hard workout, usually by the time I'm home having my post work out meal it's gone. Should still get it checked though.
gfdgfd Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Sparring? What martial art do you do? Keep us posted, sounds a bit odd, but I doubt it's anything too serious or you'd be in a lot more pain than you made out to be
Tom (Rendition) Posted November 24, 2011 Author Posted November 24, 2011 What I have is called perechardist (defo not spelt like that). It's just inflammation of the heart walls which can be caused by blunt trauma or feeling run down. It could be a mixture of both for me as I have been feeling ill as well. It's not a big deal, should pass in a couple of days. But the motherucking NHS made me stay on ward for 20 fucking hours, feel so restless right now, but I probably shouldn't exercise. Dog I do MMA, but this was kickboxing sparring. The goon I was sparring with was doing straight leg kicks which imo is dick for sparring as the ball of your feet have no padding to them.
Octavarium Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 where you in a hot room and then went outside into the cold?
DeltaPapa Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 When i breathe through my nose i hardly take in any air/oxygen at all. No idea why. Either due to broken noses due to martial arts, or just a shit load of mucus up there. So i always gotta breathe proper allow, and pisses me off in class as i try and breathe quietly and pretty much suffocating myself
