Failed reps

In the first set I get to the 10th rep and pretty much can't lift anymore do anything after the 10th (which is what I'm told is what to aim for)

In the second set I get to the 9th rep and have to give everything I have to get that 10th, after that I can't lift shit.

Then on the third set I get to about 7 or 8 reps and I literally can't do shit to pass that rep, no matter what I just can't lift anything after that rep so the question I'm asking is; Should I stop the set there or should I drop to a lower weight to complete the set or some other alternative?

thanks for the help on my last thread btw. :)

hows the form? did you notice any changes from the first and  third set?

I'm trying to maintain my form throughout the whole thing, I'm not there to impress anyone else so there's no point cheating in any way just push out a few more reps. But I really can't tell if my form degrades minimally as I'm concentrating to hard doing the exercise, if I notice my form slipping I'll try and correct it though.

have you been stuck at that rep and set range for some time? or was this fairly recent?

no, not really I've only just started and was just wondering if it's common considering the failing point of the first to sets was 10 then the third was lower, just wondering what I should do

EDIT: dw browsing around muscleandstrength.com and found my answer thanks
