I forget the specific reason, but I remember the jist of it was that Eric Clapton was doing one of his roadie's a big favor. Anyways, Eric Clapton gave up his seat on the helicopter to one of his roadies, who died along with Stevie Ray... Imagine if we had lost 2 of the best guitarists in the world in one crash.
