Hip problem

This is a recurring injury that is really getting in my way. Basically its a pain in my hip, sort of a sharp and intense pain that happens when i move or strain it. It often coems about when im doing sports, football (real football not american football ;) ) and Goju Ryu Karate do are some sports that really set it off. Football has a quite a lot of lunging in for the ball and karate has kicking and stances that i usually wouldnt be in.

I'm a pretty flexible guy i can almost do boxers splits and the other splits, i can kick well above my head, i can basically fold myself in half from my waist and hug my legs whilst standing up, i can sit down spread my legs and put my nose on my knee, so yeh for a guy I'm pretty flexible. I'm not sure how flexible my hips are, sometimes i find it uncomfortable to sit cross legged...

Thats basically all the info related to this that I can give you without being asked specific questions. I was wonderign if anyone could tell me what's wrogn and how i can overcome this? Going to the doctors is useless, they deffinately do not specialise in sports injuries and a sports therapist (physician or w/e) are a little pricey. So yeh, please and thank you.

Edit: I'm actually off to bed now so i can't answer questions till morning but, post away :)

I know you said doctors is pointless, but it's not, and it's likely that's the only answer you'll get here.. could be anything from a pulled muscled, trapped nerve etc.. wouldn't know personally, doctors is definitely worth going to though, or a hospital

I always do warm up, and besides this pain always lasts between three days and a week.

foam roll it regularly and stop doing insane stretches liek splits

I'm not sure what foam rolling is and i've never hurt myself while doing "insane stretches" or straight after doing them, so idk.

As for the doctors, it really is useless, mthey will say its nothing like they did with my knee injury and that turned out to be something after seeing a physician, the response is always the same. As for the hospital, if it really starts being a worry i may go, but that's a little excessive (and when i went about my knee they said the same asmthe doctors).

if you have insurance/it's possible i'd go to the doctors.  it's better to be safe then sorry.  if not then just don't use it for a bit, RICE and not sure if it's a joint issue but fish oil works well.  consult steroids or summit.
