Well, I'm making a website for a computer services company atm, here's the design, CC please?

It's not done yet, but this is about as much as I can do before he tells me more of what he wants (pages, features etc)

Not much help, you didn't tell me what was wrong with them.

Fyi, the home button is an example of an active button (so for the page that you are currently on) the what we do button is an example of a hovered over button and the other two buttons are in their default state. Just in case you didn't realise that.

Maybe you could make some kind of border around the LOGIN function.. Like you did for the 'ask a question' thing :p

The "view blog" ribbon thing seems totally out of place/strange. At least change the angle to perfectly 45 degrees.

The "a" logo up the top seems a bit bland compared to everything else, like it needs a bevel or something.

The corners of the buttons on the top nav are rounded rectangularly, whereas the border just outside of them are square. They should be consistent.

Other then that it looks great.

The a logo is a place holder, I'm either waiting for the person I'm making it for to give me his logo if he has one or tell me to make one.

Well I'm just starting my business, I'll be making myself a site soon. Honestly idk how I get clients, but I'm making a website for this company, an online MMA clothes store, an indie games dev company and this guy wants a site too. They all approached me, I didn't look for them.

Also my family knows I do this so if they know anyone who needs a website they refer them to me.

I'm just gonna give you a few things that you should make changes to or correct (all my opinion.)

The text that reads "home, about us, contact us, etc" is off centered and a bit hard on the eyes (ie: overcontrasted with the inner bevel, the outer glow, etc.) You could have intentionally made it off centered, which is fine in some cases for aesthetic reasons, but for a web page it just looks sloppy.

A lot of the edges for text boxes/outlines in general look rough which isn't too appealing.

Theres no inner bevel on anything on these :P

Only the Home and contact us links aren't centred

The text boes look rough because of the picture, if you view it full sized it's not rough, it's smooth.

I may centre the text within the buttons though.
