For those who regularly workout, what would you call your workout/gym-going lifestyle? Bodybuilding? weight lifting?

i consider the style of training i do as bodybuilding, but somehow whenever i'm talking in person about it, i feel a little embarassed i guess to use the word bodybuilding, as i'm not that big myself and haven't been training for too long, and same with the word weight lifting/power lifting, i guess through media everyone these days expects to see resemblances of guys like Arnie/Ed Coan whenever they hear these words and anything less is plainly disappointing. so i usually keep the fact that i workout out of most conversations, which can sometimes suck :(

Anyone in similar shoes to mine? How do you deal with it?

I dont work out and i scape so i call my lifestyle nerdyasf0k :)

when u start looking like you lift, u don't usually have to even bring it up, people do tht for you.

for now just say u go gym. no need to elaborate as to what u do whilst you're there.

You're just being healthy, keeping your body in shape or getting it into shape. Once you've developed a physique that represents a lifter, you can start to "body build" and be a "weight lifter".

Don't be ashamed to call it body building, you're building your body afterall.
