Muq Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Ok, so basically I want to become healthier. I'm not fat.. or skinny and I use a home multi gym and treadmill 3-4 times a week and I have a good diet. I'm actually pretty healthy apart from the fact that I smoke. This evening I finished the last of my baccy and normally I'd already have another pouch by now. But for the last month I've been feeling pissed off at my self for smoking. I'm 19 and smoked daily for 2 years now. I plan for tomorrow to be the first day of the rest of my life to be smoke free. For me, all I see smoking as now is a waste of money and when I look at the ash I can't help but think.. This is disgusting, why am I even doing this? It's said the first three days are where the cravings are at their worst. Basically what I want to know is, is if anyone here has quit smoking or if anyone else has any general helpful advise. I'd appreiciate any help and advise you can give and I'll post back here sharing how I'm doing with quitting. Thanks.
Anthony Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 gl man, take up a hobby to help, some people just smoke cause they need to hold something in there hands, if thats you then i suggest your dick
Mike (0BR) Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 everytime you feel the need to smoke chew gum or eat sunflower seeds. I heard the hypnotic therapy shit is quite effective too
cody Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Addiction only last psychologically for two days. After that you should "Psychologically" be fine. Keep your mind off it, take up another hobby that keeps your mind off smoking. My mom almost quit smoking because of my baby, and it was winter at the time so she had to go outside to smoke! so she gave up smoking.. haha but now only does it at work. so it's whatever it cut her down from a pack a day to a pack a week.
Dizzy Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Set a goal straight that you want to follow. Keep yourself entertained and always think of the positives of being sober. Goodluck and i'm happy that you are making a healthy choice!
DeltaPapa Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 start smokin weed and quit tabaco. Its easier to stop smokin weed then tabaco
Muq Posted March 30, 2012 Author Posted March 30, 2012 weed is expensive to smoke often lol. just woke up, first 10 mins wasnt great but alright now. going to get a coffee n shower n shit. going job center later, shouldn't be too bad to get through today.
Muq Posted March 30, 2012 Author Posted March 30, 2012 6pm here now, early evening, todays been a bit of a breeze really with not smoking. Just listened to music and chewed gum to help work through the cravings. Did go food shopping around 4pm which stressed me out, felt like ramming a few of the slow ass shoppers into the aisles with my trolley, but I didn't. Actually looking forward to tomorrow as another day not smoking. Definatley seems like a mind over matter thing with quitting, going alot easier than expected :)

Ow 3 Hit Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 If it's a choice, and not a "I need to quit smoking" and a "Why am I smoking? Fuck this." then it will be a breeze. If it's a need, you will fail, if it is your choice. You will succeed.
