looking to build some sick legs ready for the summer ;0

i have many a pair of very short rugby league shorts and now i want epic legs to go with them you see.

I currently have pretty big / strong legs even with only having limited training on them the past few month due to injury. When squatting properly before i was able to do 140kg for a few reps which isnt too bad.

I will be looking to keep building muscle probs, but wanna work on leaner / aesthetic too... basically want to keep strength but want to look good to.

Anybody got any ideas or seen routines for exercises, reps, and how many times a week to train?

obviously more reps, lighter weight when you're lifting..push yourself as well

more cardio-legs involved activities...you probs know of a few from rugby, thing with toning legs though is it takes a lot of work lol

Do a lot of isolation exercises supersetted with one legged reps, so say reps to failure on leg extension, then drop the weight down by half or so, and go at it again one legged with a dropset. Try stiff leg deadlifts also.

I usually just push cars up a large hill =]

Jokes, good luck on your goals.

I can just recommend you to train 3-4 times a week + 2 times running ex. (For your rugby) Mix up your trainings and put abdominal abs in each. FOR EG. (im doing this) MONDAY - Chest + Back abs. and Abdominal, THUESDAY - recreation (only abdominal abs if you want.), WEDNESDAY - Biceps + Triceps and abominal, THURSDAY - recreation (only adbominal abs.) , FRIDAY - Legs + Shoulders and abdominal. *Weekend* Running ex. it might be cross-country 8-10km. Before every training make 10minutes minimum pre-exercise. Each training with abs. should take about ~1.5hour. You need every single muscle to play rugby. with these trainings you will make your body stronger and enhanced. Thats all. If you have any questions ,ask me.

got some personal trainers on this thread for sure..

variation walli.. legs have many different ways to hit them. calves can be trained multiple times a week as they recover very fast. obv squatting is huge, and you know this. would say you need to drop some weight and worry about your form and reps. depending on your form with squats it will transfer the load differently. i get better leg workouts doing lesser weight with better form.

For legs, what works for me is that you got to change the variation of your feet position constantly, increase/decrease intensity etc.. for example, now i'm trying to bring out my hamstrings more, so therefore I squat at a wider stance, take larger steps as I do walking lunges, press with my heels while I'm using the leg press etc,,

To add more emphasis on your tear drop & sweepers, close stance for squats, close stance for leg press, shorter steps for walking lunges.

just remember, the closer your legs the more emphasis on yours sweepers/quads. The further your legs apart the more emphasis on your hamstrings. If that makes sense.

Donno how people train abs nearly everyday.. I'm way more concerned about my big lifts, don't have the energy to fuck with abs at the end of my workouts.
