Schaapje Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 Augury and rigour token refundTo make it fair for all 3 combat styles Rigour and Augury will be removed from the dungeoneering shop and your points will be refunded. They will now unlock alongside Piety by completing the knight waves. I guess this means we got 74/77 prayer for nothing. You'll need 60 defence to start the knight waves... Tanking will be a fully supported play style in the new combat system, with lots of extra lifepoints for tanks, and abilities that they can use to force NPC’s to attack them and not their friends. You can also put debuffs on PVP targets so that they do less damage to other players if they don’t attack you.Pures are not being outlawed in the new system, but it you have chosen not to train your defence, you will find yourself at a disadvantage in combat. It will be much more important to wear armor of the appropriate level for the target you are fighting, as in the new system armour gives you lots more lifepoints. For example, someone with 99 Attack and Strength and 1 Defence will almost certainly get steamrolled by someone with say, 50 Defence. Good fight #2 I guess Training combat skillsYou will get XP according to what combat style you are currently using, not the skill that unlocked the ability. For example, you unlocked the ability "Strike" through the attack skill, but you can gain Strength or Defence XP from using it if you use those styles. Yes! All melee weapons can now train in all the different melee styles. Not sure if this means you get random sorts of xp... (included defence) Discuss!
DeltaPapa Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 r example, someone with 99 Attack and Strength and 1 Defence will almost certainly get steamrolled by someone with say, 50 Defence. Only part that breaks my heart

TJ Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Combat levels ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Combat level is still based on your stat levels, but the calculation itself has been changed. We have not announced the new formula for combat levels yet. :o
