No different to a cheat day imo

Personal preference, you can have a cheat day, go through 10g protein and rest in simple sugars and will feel somewhat Okay tomorrow as long as you eat properly next day, drink heavy then try lift the next day doesn't work for me, whatever is best for you though =]

wat the hell. if i ate 10g of protein in a day i would not be recovered at all the next day

why do so many ppl who dont lift post in this section constantly just quoting eachother being all HAHAAHAH UR GAY, U SUCK.. etc. go away rofl!

OT: rarely, don't have the money to tbh, i'm only part time atm at work and too many expenses. there's no harm in it really in the grand scheme, just make it fit into your diet, which is hard when cutting I guess, but even still, being on maintenance or slightly above one day out of 7 isn't going to hurt

I wasn't talking about you. but let's be serious for a minute, most of the people who post in a lot of topics in this section nowadays do not do any kind of sport, they do not lift, and they do not care about their health, they care only about their post count.

Alchol has a shit ton of calories in it, however its empty calories.

The calories isnt protein, carbs, they are just pointless and will get stored as fat, yet giving you nothing in return.

So they are pointless really, however wont really harm your gains, just make you put on more fat.

If i go out, i just have Vodka + and healthyish mixer (diet ____) etc. as spirits is low cals.

I hardly ever go out due to work though

The ethanol is what contains the bulk of the calories. The same volume of alcohol will have roughly the same calories, no matter what form you drink it in. One standard drink of alcohol ~ 100 calories; regardless of type.

You have to decide what you are really after. If you want to enjoy your younger years, then drink up. Most people work out for better physical appearance and increased confidence. Alcohol can also make life more enjoyable...for obvious reasons.

If you are really serious about being healthy, just drink in moderation. Getting smashed several times a week will lead to increased fat. Partying once in a while won't do any harm, assuming you don't give yourself alcohol poisoning or drive drunk.

Beer and cocktails etc have sugar in them too surely, whereas spirits dont, also what about liquors like baileys, arent they made with other stuff like creams? so i dont see how what he said was stupid

^^that one, yes alcohol has the same caloric value in every drink but you need to count the extra sugar, cream etc etc in

there are also light versions of e.g. ciders which some ppl think are good to drink rofl

The effect of mixers is minimal. If you are drinking to the point of this being a concern, the calories from the actual alcohol will overwhelmingly be the predominant factor.

The bottom line is that alcohol is not healthy, which is why I qualified my response with the latter paragraphs. Not only is it fattening, but it can cause serious liver damage, delay muscle recovery, blah blah blah. Justifying healthier drinking by content is absurd.

And I am not saying that people shouldn't drink. You just have to be smart about it. I was in a fraternity in my early college years...so I drank plenty. Trust me.

I always find that going out and getting pissed takes a terrible toll on my gains. Just the hangover the next day, the dehydration, fatigue, 0 motivation to keep eating that day or lifting. And I try to limit myself to going out once every 2-3 weeks. But yet I know so many guys hat go out 2-3 times a week and stay ripped its weird lol

theyll be ripped but definately not big lol like 60kg people that dont eat.
