"dirty bulking" effectively, is done by people with years of experience who can easily use common sense to determine their portion sizes / daily needed macros without having to calculate every detail. things like pizza's etc can fit into the perfect bulking macros so easily, i feel sorry for all the bro's having 8 portions of chicken/brown rice every day and getting the same results as people that understand macros. chicken/rice/veg is for cutting lol, fibre pls.

if you know body well enough, you can easily gain as much muscle on a 300-400 calorie surplus as you can on a 1-2k surplus. but if you know how to lose weight, who cares in the long-run, enjoy the extra placebo energy / muscle fullness.

na its not clear-cut, everyone is different. most people will benefit more-so from keeping a surplus of around 500 calories, hence why thats what so many people do.

do that untill you learn more about your body, consistent weight / pics / bf% updates will tell you if you can get away with more or less cals. as far as ur cutting diet goes, if your not losing over 2lb a week at your bf % your doing something very wrong. first week def doesn't count, water etc.

ive came to realise that when u try lose shit loads of weight ur body plateus fuckin fast, like when u try to lose 3 n 4lb a week, your bodyweight just comes to a massive halt, so it probably is best to just aim for a consistant pound or two a week

been on it for 6 days and lost around a kilo. Stupid non-digital scales make it difficult to tell exactly but yeah Im pretty sure ive lost like a kilo

he's got a lot fat to lose i reckon 2lb should def be the minimum for him in the next month. how much were u losing consistently when you were proper fat?

but yeah when im cutting it usually starts at like 12% bf so still never lose over 2lb a week.
