I Sh00t U I Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 OK I been training for over a year now, And ever since i started buying protein powders (over a year ago) i have always been looking for the super magical shit, bought, read up, tested various different proteins, even tryed hemp protein (most common protein powder is whey protein) It's pretty nutritions but could never stay on it long enough to give it a proper trial because it tastes like shit and after 2 weeks i was throwing it back up lol. I started to question protein, (what makes muscles) why does it have all these ingredients in them, why isn't it just pure, with a straight forward label, instead of saying "MASS SIZE, STRENGTH" and all that gimmick shit. I went into 1 of my local supplement shops, and spoke to the owner who i get on with and he tells me his knowledge (hes pretty big so i listen) I asked him where can i buy pure protein, protein in its purest form, he told me you wont find it here, maybe China because that is what allot of people do create a company order protein mix it with loads of shit (sometimes illegal shit, n not steroids either) basically what drug dealers do with cocaine, usually cocaine what you buy on the street only has 10% actual cocaine in it. What I'm saying is Protein you buy from the shops has been mixed with loads of other shit to make it weigh more (prob allot more) Final paragraph Now i don't go for anything fancy when I'm looking for protein i just go for the best deal aslong as it says it has 40 grams + per serving (even though it probably doesn't) But most of that protein you drink goes in your mouth and out your ass, the best way of consuming protein is by eating meat, look at arnold and the big men from back in the day (there was big bodybuilders btw) protein powders weren't around then, all they did for there protein intake was eat meat, What i suggest is to drink only 1 protein shake per day (anymore is a waste) and eat proper food, Hope this topic enlightens you a little bit about protein and that it's not all that magical like all the lil kids who calling weight training liftin' say. Oh yeah and its prob the same with creatine, i don't use creatine. Good luck

Anyone could have told you that real meat is better for you, and that shakes are mixed with stuff. Meat costs money though, and cant carry around a steak with me every 2 hours.

Motif Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Eat lots of meat, Protein shakes are pretty much for people that don't get there daily protein intake but yea it helps of course it's mixed with lots of stuff just look for protein/creatine without fillers. But nothing is a substitute for working out hard, Don't go running for 2-3 hours on end if you want to get big look at a sprinter vs a runner for example. 30 minutes cardio before a work out or after a work out is good enough, Deadlifts & Squats are some of the things a lot of people don't do and actually work on multipal muscles wanna get big Eat.
