Correct me if I'm wrong.... Why do AP mid players take devastating strikes mastery (6% armor and magic penetration) for 3 points?

 

I did some calculations for example if someone has 100 mr.. you'd only be doing +6 damage more in Ap....200 mr..+12 damage

 

Also how often do you play games where your enemy team has more than 150mr...devastating strikes should be more of a situational mastery

 

If what I'm saying is true, why the fuck do people spend 3 mastery points on this shit?

 

I mean... if you were an ap caster mid id rather spend 4 points on the ad masteries for +14 Ad (10 scaling and +4Ad on level 1)

 

Am i missing something here?

Where the heck did u get +14 at level 1 rofl

 

Brute force gives you .55 per at level 1 and then Martial mastery gives you +4   =+4.55

 

And if you had them 4 + normal ap masteries you run out of points.

 

edit: you also don't seem to understand how penetration works.

if its 6% magic penetration and the enemy has 100 magic resist. how doesn't it mean 6 more magic damage?

and im not sure how it works, but i know its not like that.

 

By that logic, if i have 40 Armour and you have 70ad, you only auto attack 30 on me, which defiantly isn't right
