Sean`` Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 (edited) Biggest game in club football. 2 Biggest Brands in Football. 2 Most Expensive Clubs in Football. United go into the match 12 points clear at the top of the Premiership whilst Real Madrid are 16 points off Barcelona at the top of La Liga. Both conceded goals for fun at the start of the season, yet United have been able to dig in and win unlike Madrid. Ronaldo will be the difference for Madrid, 182 goals in 179 games, making him the clubs 6th highest goalscorer since joining 4 years ago. Although United have their own threats up front; mainly in Robin Van Persie. After moving from Arsenal last season he has continued his scintillating form, scoring 19 goals in 26 appearances. Likely to be the loan striker with Wayne Rooney playing in his preferred position "In the hole" a free role just behind the striker. This should balance United's attack and midfield making it into a midfield of 5 trying to stop Xabi Alonso and Sami Khedira from controlling the tempo of the game. Real Madrid aren't just a one man team, they have a whole host of striking possibilities Benzema will most likely start upfront, Ronaldo, Higuan and Benzema contributed to over 100 goals last season, breaking records for goals scored, away wins and others. Although the main focus will be to keep Ronaldo quiet. Fergie hasn't managed to get his tactics right against Mourinho too many times, only achieving one win. Phil Jones will likely be drafted into midfield and man mark Ronaldo, like he did against Fellaini of Everton on Sunday. Rafael will be have no worries going up against Ronaldo at right back as he has been in top form this season. Himself and Antonio Valencia will make up the right side of the pitch, Valencia starting due to his work rate doubling up on Madrid's left side. Mourinho may not start Marcelo as he bombs forward and leaves the defence too open potent to United's counter attacking ability. With Paul Scholes not travelling to Madrid the midfield centre will have to be very good, Carrick and Phil Jones making the back bone of the midfield and possibly starting without a natural left foot winger with Cleverley playing a free role on the left side to come inside and combat the midfield. Shinji Kagawa is another option to start on the left, he hasn't been able to transpire his form from Borussia Dortmund last season to United so far, but he's a young man who can change a game, he keeps the ball very well, Giggs is unlikely to start due to starting on sunday. Likely formations: Manchester United: De Gea Rafael Ferdinand Vidic Evra Valencia Jones Carrick Cleverley Rooney Van Persie Real Madrid: Casillas Arbeloa Pepe Ramos Marcelo Khedira Alonso Di Maria Ozil Ronaldo Benzema Edited February 13, 2013 by Sean``
X0 Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 (edited) Not sure who will win, Since the first game is in madrid all united will have to do is not get 3-0'd and make an away goal and they should be fine. Looking forward to this match ;d Edit: checked unibet odds: Holyfuck lol 1.65 for win for madrid 5.25 for united and 4.20 (!!!!) for a draw only for the first match... thats insane odds lol if i had money on my unibet id bet 100 on a draw lol Also 2.35 for united win if they start 0-1 up.. lmfao free money is free. Home advantage? i been to few madrid games and the most noise usually comes from the away crowd (Highest point in stadium)
DeltaPapa Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 So your both saying bet on draw? Brb betting on a draw
A Crusader Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 I think united is going to win, because they're more of a team, but tbh.. the best club atm is Bayern München, Barcelona is doing sick this year aswell but I don't think they'll make it in the CL. I think Bayern deserves a win this year.
Con Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 1st leg | Real Madrid 2 - 1 Manchester United 2nd leg | Real Madrid 1 - 1 Manchester United I just don't think Vidic and Ferdinand will be able to cope with the sheer pace from Ronaldo and Di Maria, Benzema is amazing is the air as well and those two center back's can be inconsistent in the air. If Rooney digs in and hassle's Alonso and if Rafael, Valencia and Jones surround Ronaldo, it could be a different game. But I still see a Madrid win tonight.

"center back's can be inconsistent in the air."? Really? Did you not watch Vidic at the weekend, everytime they put a ball in the box against Everton he cleared it. I'm going Madrid 3 - 2 United first leg. United 2 -1 Second leg. United through on away goals.

lozpe Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 it will be 2-1 for real cause its in spain but the game in england should be even more fun then cant wait for it.
Con Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 United will have to be aggressive and hassle Madrid like hell, otherwise Madrid will tear them to shreds.
Sean`` Posted February 13, 2013 Author Posted February 13, 2013 RVP > CR7 United all the way! Not true. Even Fergie admits Ronaldo's better.
X0 Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 1-1 End score.. man if i had money i would have fukin betted on a draw 100x5.50=550 ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff if anyone wants free money madrid will go tru next round (they are 75% better if they don have to make the plays) Might endup 2-2 so im not saying madrid will actually win the game in manchester
