Videoing and editing software?

What software would you recommend to video and edit? Trying to broaden my horizons here, humour me ;)

And also, any link or suggestion as to how to obtain the software.

Sony vegas

Download Camtasia. Has an inbuilt screen recorder plus can edit in there also.

You also have good ol' Hypercam to record.

Song Vegas is good but more difficult to use.
