Yeah I'm chinning right now and I would say that it's all about how good you are at getting as many piled as possible for max xp/h. Meaning that you use less chins and save more money :)

obv none of you have chinned 35-50k from 70 range easily

Go Ape Atoll, it'll take around 40-50k chins, not much less than that

i would so about 30k red chins, gl on getting 99!

I've done 67-90 using red chins @ ape atoll and it took me almost 30k red chins. (glory+zammycape+mitre+black d hide - no robins/ranger boots) and the 2nd range prayer.

 

Realistically, I'd say 70-99 is roughly 60k+ chins.

 

85-99 is about 30k chins when you're using void on a main.

 

Also, shilo village is about 100k xp/hr using gray chins at level 90, not really worth it due to inflated prayer pot prices.

if you're on a budget, its a terribad idea to start chinning before 85, just do blue dragons in watchtower spot for cash and decent range xp, then buy the 30k chins you will need 85/90-99
