caused loads of great things etc but made live so much shiter imo i mean who really wants to work a 9-5 every day until your 70? instead of just helping each other and living off what's around you and hunting food etc

Electricity. Think about it; we're by far the most intelligent species of animal on Earth. We are also the only species directly responsible for slowly killing the planet. Had electricity never been invented, mass industrialization would have been impossible. Not in our lifetimes, but eventually, this planet will end, and we are responsible for speeding up that process and killing many other animals of all kinds prior to that happening. We're too smart for our own good, so smart we're completely destructive. What if the lightning bolt had just killed Franklin? Oy vey.
