VENoM Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 (edited) I study and program quite a lot so I've been inactive for a very long time. I have been going to GYM (not properly) my weight is quite high (95-102KG; all the time), i practically have most of my weight kind of built around my waist and that's where i try to exercise. I go to the GYM early in the morning around 10 and return home about 12:00-1:00 (including walk and shower at GYM). I start of with a few stretches and begin walking on the treadmill, after about 3-4 minutes i start doing 2 minutes running 2 minutes walking and so on until i get tired then i start walking at about 4.0 for about 5 minutes. I start doing the machines, working on upper body only. I finish off with the treadmill with about 5 minutes of walk and the rest at about 12.0-15.0 run. Each time i go i atleast loose 1KG i am not lying, when i first started a few months ago i ate salads mainly and tried (failed a bit) to stay healthy and i lost 8KG in 1 week. However, i gain really quickly. So the question is... any advice for me? Edited August 4, 2013 by VENoM
VENoM Posted August 4, 2013 Author Posted August 4, 2013 stretching is for pussies or 'warm up', i tried to jump into training straight away, i damaged my back for 2 weeks.
Callum Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 stretching is for pussies Stretches are for smart people actually, you idiot. Stops you pulling and tearing muscles. Yeah doing the two minutes on two minutes off thing is good, good if you do it on a crosstrainer too. Don't stop when your tired though, you really need to push it, set a time and don't stop until you reach it. Eating healthy is good but you have to watch what your eating and make sure you eating the right stuff, I gain weight really easy too but I tend to have one binge a week then train again. You cant just work one muscle group each time you go to the gym (upper body) you need to work on your legs, core and everything else. Set a plan and do one group a day, and work the crap out that group and do a different one the next day. Squats are really good for you. Do you play any sports?
FlNAL OWNAGE Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Don't use machines use dumbels and do core training on a mat also do alot of how you call it jumping with/in a rope
Wally1337 Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 (edited) "I practically have most of my weight kind of built around my waist and that's where i try to exercise." You cant really "focus" on one spot to lose weight it doesnt work that way especially not around the waist. From what you are saying you probably have low metabolism, are you keeping track of calorie intake or following up on a certain schedule? Id jog on treadmill instead of running at that weight (Im not sure of you Bf%) ud last longer. Also try elliptical trainer i find it sometimes better than treadmill Edited August 4, 2013 by Wally1337
Rogers Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 The best type of fitness you need to start getting into is interval training. High level of physical activity, low level of rest. Treadmill runs are good fair enough. You need to perform for a longer period, try 1 minute sprints (best you can do), followed by 1 minute jogging, then walk. Repeat for 15-20 minutes. 3-4 times per week. All the best
DeltaPapa Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 When you say machines do you mean weight or cardio?

I do want to plan out my training but sometimes i get really tired and i cant go? What should i do in those situations. I use to play Football/Basketball all the time, i practically stopped going after i gained a lot of weight. I am planning to go to court and play some basketball each week though. Don't use machines use dumbels and do core training on a mat also do alot of how you call it jumping with/in a rope Ill try that thank you. All the best I try doing exactly that, first 2-3 times it works, then i start slowing down. When you say machines do you mean weight or cardio? I'm not quite sure (new to the GYM/Fitness scene), these are machines where you change the weight and start using them, such as pulling up or down http://www.thegymgroup.com/equipment/ just eat healthy. I have been trying.
Callum Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 (edited) You need to motivate yourself and dedicate at least 1 hour a day to working out. If you cant make it to the gym then I advise purchasing some weights of your own and try jogging outdoors (cross country) which is amazing for you. When I mean weights I mean dumbells and so on. You quit sport due to weight? I advise getting back into it, playing a sport is a good work out and you can normally get advise from your coaches or people who work around the teams. Like said above, free weights are the best for you, if you knew to the scene then I advise that you go with a workout buddy for a week or two and learn how to use free weights so you don't hurt yourself. Interval training is the best, but only if you push yourself, working out is always about pushing your body and mind. Its hard but the end product is nice. I love coming from the gym with no energy and feeling sick almost, means you had a good work out and you will feel amazing later in the day. If your new to the scene then I definitely recommend going with a buddy for a week or two, so you know what your doing and know your way around the gym. Edited August 4, 2013 by `Callum
Rihana Pm Me Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 (edited) that 1kg u claim ur losing is mostly sweat so dont get 2 excited about that. cut back the amount of time you're working out for someone who isnt in the best of shape working out for 2.5 hours a day eating only salads in going to burn out pretty quick hence the reason you keep putting the weight back on. find a program you can do 6-7 times a week for at least 3 months. Dog Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 How does this look? It looks terrible rofl. Get on a weightlifting split and train properly. 1 example: day 1: chest and triceps day 2: back and biceps day 3: shoulders day 4: legs rest + repeat Start using free weights, look up dumbbell exercises for each muscle group and do them. start tracking ur calories with www.myfitnesspal.com [has an app for phones too] eat about 500 under maintenance, or less if you wanna lose it quicker but i wudnt advise going too low. dont limit yourself to eating certain foods, like only eating salad lmao. i lost 50lbs in a few months and still ate a bit of ice cream each day, it's about moderation

Thank you everyone for the advices.
Insecurities Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Get a personal trainer at your gym to make you a program. Eat clen and tren hard.
Ollie Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Dog broke it down for u in the simplest of terms to understand tbh. Doing a few reps on every machine every other day isn't gona get you results broooo Up to you though
Ikz Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 GYM GYM GYM GYM GYM GYM GYM GYM GYM GYM Really though watch videos before asking questions you'll learn so much more. Bodybuilding forum or any high-subscribed youtube exercise/weightlifting channels are good to start. You also have to learn proper motion so start with light weights, and keep reps high until you feel you're comfortable with the free range of motion.
will-turb Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Eating healthy is good but you have to watch what your eating and make sure you eating the right stuff, strong sentence
