The man, Derek Medina, 31, turned himself into police for the slaying of Jennifer Alfonso, 26, whose body was discovered in the townhouse at 5555 SW 67th Ave. According to Miami-Dade police, Medina shot and killed Alfonso, then drove to the South Miami police station to surrender. Officers rushed to the townhouse, where they also found Alfonso’s 10-year-old daughter from a previous relationship. The girl was not injured and emerged wrapped in a blanket. Medina is being questioned by detectives. So far, no charges have been announced. He is likely to claim self-defense. His father, Derek Medina Sr., told reporters that his son told him that Alfonso brandished a knife. In his Facebook post, Medina does not mention a knife. “My wife was punching me and I’m not going to stand anymore with the abuse so I did what I did. Hope u understand me,” he wrote. The post also reads : “I’m going to prison or death sentence for killing my wife. Love you guys. Miss you guys. Take care. Facebook people you’ll see me in the news.” According to county records, Medina and Alfonso married in April 2012, got divorced and then were re-married. Facebook also removed Alfonso’s profile page. The grisly photograph shows the woman in black leggings, her legs bent back at an awkward angle. Her left arm and left cheek are bloody. It appears that she fell dead in front of the oven in the kitchen. Medina, on his public Facebook account, describes himself as property management supervisor and an actor for the Miami-based crime drama Burn Notice. He is also a self-published author, writing e-books with titles such as How I Saved Someone’s Life and Marriage and Family Problems Thru Communication and How a Judgmental and Selfish Attitude Is Destroying the World We Live in Because the World Is Vanishing Beneath Our Eyes. He's fucked up. i don't think you understand some of the mental abuse domestic violence victims suffer think of how many women stay with their partners even tho they attack them verbally and physically i honestly in a way think its somewhat unfair what people will think of him for killing his wife because if the tables were turned with the same things done and said but it was the wife saying he killed him because he attacked her everyone would be saying he deserved it i don't think people understand that men can also be victims or this kinda thing however is it was just a mindless killing of someone for no reason he should get life also props for posting the spoiler with a disclaimer

No matter how abusive the woman was murdering her was definately not the answer and it's pretty sad that he couldn't see that. I personally will never understand how people can keep themselves in abusive relationships and nothing pisses me off more than hearing about it happening.
