Walli Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 If you loved the TV then I highly suggest you read the books or listen to the audio books. They are amazing and it is insane how much the TV misses out or just changes from the books (the book versions are always superior) I have just finished the third book which takes me past where I ended in the TV series its just a mind fuck. If you thought what had happened so far was intense and class next season will be insane on the TV. Any one read on or gone further than the TV series? you impressed with it too? I dont want people posting spoilers but Im happy to talk to people in pm about anything in the firs three books. Just curious if other people have took up the books and preferred them.
Callum Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 I actually have the books on order. I agree though, most films miss out a lot from the books, its crazy. Ive just recently read the hunger games and a lot was left out of that also.
Andrew Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 i've heard people talk about the series but i never got around to it wanna give me tl'dr of what its about
DeltaPapa Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 I heard the tv series is better than the books for GoT. Quite rare that often happens
Wally1337 Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 -Watched the series -Got too impatient to wait for next one -Read all the books (waiting for the next book...should be out in a few years lul) Its my favorite tv series
i tauntz i Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 love the books its weird how when i read them i have a completely different opinion of certain characters and how they come across in the books compared with the show also there is loads more history in the books so you get way more backstory and it gives the books a edge over the show
DeltaPapa Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 You should read the hunger games trilogy. Some of the best books right there. Film is shit compared to the books.
Tris Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Guess I'll torrent the e-books and have a read.
Elven Dremor Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Guess I'll torrent the e-books and have a read. You read books on the computer? I'm ashamed, friend. I'll get around to reading them eventually.
Storms Arrow Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Books are better always as you said. The series no matter how good it is(in this case, its pretty damn good) still struggles to capture the ideas. I'm reading through the 5th book right now.
Tris Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Hey Elven, wanna let me borrow your hard copies then? Post em plz.
`Liam Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 I've got the collection sitting in the bookcase at home but haven't started reading them, might start though
Wally1337 Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 (edited) Actually i was surprised on how accurate the filming of GoT is, compared to the book... Other movies/series that are based on books usually lack a lot of details but the GoT Trilogy is really accurate and I watched a few behind the scenes interview with some of the main actors in addition to George R. R. Martin and he said that he was aiming for it to be really life-like and close to the book as much as possible. The series itself wasnt done with a green-screen like most other series do and that also made me like it even more But the sad thing is that it takes the author 3+ years to release the next book :S Edited September 14, 2013 by Wally1337

Veta Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Read the first book and never go to the others
ZoeJ Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 I have the full collection and have read two of them, to be honest I started reading around the time the show came out and I decided to watch rather than read at first. Purely because it is heavy reading and there are so many names that half the time I forgot who people were. After watching the shows the books were easier to read. I would recommend them for sure!
ZoeJ Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 I heard the tv series is better than the books for GoT. Quite rare that often happens where did you hear that? The show is amazing but the books are, as always, superior. The only thing I can think off is that the book is a we but to 'wordy' for some retards to read.
Rihana Pm Me Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 I've read all the books love them looking forward to season 4 hopefully martin can get WoW out before then at this rate nigga is gonna die before he finishes the series
