Don't loose hope in OSRS

Lately, some poeple have been quitting and thinking the game is worthless because it's "dead". People are also thinking that the game is dying out and will soon be nothing.

It's depressing to hear about how this game is dying and the wilderness is dead and so on, but I beleive and others do to that, the game is going to do just the opposite.

Yes, the game started at release three times as active and more popular than it is as of today but we have to realize we control the faith of this game. What kind of gamer would not want to play a game where they get to choose what and what is not in it? Eventually the idiots at Jagex will understand and realize the thirst for this game and will invest more recourses and time into it. Statistically the game hit "rock bottom" in late september but ever since then it has been a steady but slow increase. Perfectly honest, I think we are one update away from making this game work and work perfectly. We need F2P. This brings low level items into the game and keeps the economy flowing and hopefully breeds new pures and pkers. That's how I see it

Opinions?

Agreed, osrs should be f2p.

They need to kept putting updates out, when godwars came out alot of people played that day also same with pvp.

Yes there should be a F2P option, personally i would like to have the G.E as it would speed up the selling and buying process. Possibly a slight graphics update, not like pre eoc in 2012 but maybe in 2009 graphics. Clan wars would be a good update and maybe bounty hunter worlds. There are quite a lot of updates which i have stated but in my opinion it will definitely improve the game for the better.

Yeah osrs should definitely have a f2p option as well. It's the single most important update this game needs right now, if we want it to stay alive.

too little too late

and please don't kid yourself the game has never been "perfect" it was good even great at times but never "perfect"

the reason the game is dying isn't because of updates or players slowly leaving or anything like that. the problem is that jagex doesn't do shit for advertisement fuck i dont even think they have an advertisment department how do you expect a game to grow without making people aware that its out there? i get that making the game f2p will attract some casual players that don't want to play enought that would warrant membership but really it isnt going to magically add thousands of players to the game its only going to add a few that are aware of the game being around

tldr; advertise = players not just adding things without telling people about the game

also for everyone saying they should add this or fix that you're missing the point of how the game is dying yes all of those fixes will make the game more enjoyable and keep a few people playing longer etc but they won't attract new players simply because how does someone start playing a game they have never heard of?

you know why this game will never get popular because it was only popular around 2006-2009 where everyone played the game the nerds the wannabe gangsters the dudes everyone played RS pre-eoc was generally a good game so people well us older versions agd 15-24 stuck to the game and enjoyed it to somewhat degree now there is more mainstream games like minecraft and league of legends which have taken over and the 2006-2009 players us are just older and find this as a opportunity to quit and do something with our lives. The younger generation now play league of legends and Minecraft and other games no-one is going to start playing runescape now with the shit game play the only thing that will save this game is if they bring back pre-eoc with all the database for out accounts so we dont have to start all over again even that wont be enough the game is just so 2006.

league for a way out

It's not just that, it's a matter of OSRS not having our old accounts. Look at how many people got hacked/banned and just left, while previously almost everyone (especially in the pure community) had 2-3 accounts that they botted years ago. Botting was also easier, it's not a matter of the game being any different per-sé but rather how people treat it. The anti-bot tech finally lives up to Jagex's word and most of the community is lost without it

Updates will keep it going, such as clan wars etc. Also f2p would make the game 2x more popular.

About 40 percent of the Rs community online at any given time is Old School Users if Mark Gerhard wasn't such a fucking idiot he'd focus more recourses on the game in the first place and we wouldn't be dealing with this problem in the first place.

pretty sure he is just a name now the company is mostly owned by shareholders which stops him making game changing decisions anything major they want to add/remove etc has to be agreed by them first that's what happens when you see it out is blow up in your face

Change attitude and people shuld not 1 item / rushing. or do it with style like Ihanakyljys

The game needs f2p+advertisement

However i think jagex is just doing as least as possible to maintain an ok population and just milk the bills out of us who think its going anywhere.
