Mauls Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Well i've decided on summoning and i've never summoned bfore so im wondring how many charms from 1-57 summoning and what familiars and should make and how much it will cost me if any1 could help me i'd love that :D

Dope Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 its gona take a nice amount of charms. Just save them up from when you go to rock crabs or fire giants. I usually go to water fiends and safe spot them to get crimsons.

The only way you get experience is by converting charms into summoning pouches. That said, the only way you can get exp is farming (gathering) charms off NPCs. If you don't have charms then you can't level up summoning. Each Summoning pouch have their own list of materials to make it. You can only make summoning pouches that are your level and lower so make sure you have an idea of what pouches your going to make. The materials are pretty simple.. Each pouch has (1) charm required to make it, along with 1 other item, and also you need to have the right amount of summoning shards to make the pouch. People generally underestimate the amount of shards it takes to create a pouch. This is generally where the cost of leveling will come into play. The other cost is the item becides the charm you need to use to make the pouch. An example of this is my current level of my summoning. Currently I am 64 summoning and I choose to make the highest level pouch I can make which is the Stranger Plant. I need to make 151 Stranger Plants to get from 64 to 65 Summoning. Lets break this down: 151 Crimson Charms 128 Shards per pouch x 25gp per shard = 3,200gp per pouch... 3,200gp x 151 pouches = 483,200gp for the shards for my level.. Reagent: Bagged Plant GE Price of bagged Plant: 1,173gp each 1,173gp x 151 Bagged Plants = 177,123gp for enough bagged plants for my level.. 483,200gp + 177,123gp = 660,246gp for my level This is an example on how costs can come into play with summoning. You also got to keep in mind that I have to farm 151 crimson charms for the level. If you have the funds to powerlevel then more power to ya, but if your funds are tight please be aware that this Skill is an expense. Also keep in mind it may be worthwhile to farm your own mats instead of buying them off the GE. -Jitte
I X N H Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 I slayed my charms all the way to 74 on mainzor. Basilisks are really good for greens. I can really remember what else is a good charm dropper, but I'm sure Runewiki will be happy to oblige.

It tells you all the amounts needed and the exact routes to train it etc. I was thinking of getting 50, Purely for the Feather Headress Lols

Also keep in mind it may be worthwhile to farm your own mats instead of buying them off the GE. -Jitte You get 70% of the used shards back if you change them in. `128*0.7*25*151=338240 To get there will cost you 660,246gp - 338240gp = 322k cash at minimum! You can sell some pouches on the ge for a higher price than you get from returning the shards. You can simply calc this by doing : [Pouch price]-([amount of shards per pouch]*0.7) ;)
