has anyone been to this part of the map before (Sanguinesti region) in ~8 years of playing I have never really known about this place, apparently the castle isn't even accessible

Yes, I've been there before. You need to go there if you are doing the Darkness of Hallowvale quest which is part of the Myreque quest line. The castle it self isn't accessible. But there is a part in the Darkness of Hallowvale quest you need to go around the castle to draw it. Pretty cool quest story line, al tho it's a bitch to get through Meiyerditch. Maybe you can acess the castle in the sequel quests? (which aren't in old school runescape).
