5. The world no longer relies on Middle Eastern oil so we can bring Peace Keeping soldiers home, lowering our military budget by a ton

6. Use new hemp $$ on Education, Welfare, Healthcare, and reconstruction of cities (hopefully LA)

7. Pay back debts

 

Convincing the world that global warming is real is huge because there needs to be a reason to buy our hemp. Doesn't matter if it is real or not tbh, and if it is then yay we saved the world :D If not then w/e were still rich :D

 

My 2 cents on that matter:

 

1. Male hemp plants barely produce THC, you don't really need to legalise marijuana, just hemp (it's legal in NL).

2. World is already convinced of global warming. 

3. I'm a bit sceptical about the numbers in the article.

4. Once a country will produce marijuana (THC) and sell it, many will follow, reducing the price.

5. Gas/oil would probably still be cheaper.

The world is far from convinced that global warming is a serious threat. No country has the amount of open farm land that the US, so they can grow it all they want, they wont grow as much as the US. Gas/oil might be cheaper but its not a clean energy source, which is the main drive behind using hemp. Not sure if you are disagreeing with me or not tbh

Russia is allied with the #1 economic superpower in the world. 

 

Now lets take a look at Chinas growing military supremacy.

China has an anti aircraft carrier missile that has a radius 3x the size of the US's strongest missile. I think it's safe to say that the US can no longer assume naval supremacy considering Chinese stealth submarines surfaced during a Navy Military exercise and were well within attack range.

Our advantage is that China's economy is dependent on our economy but we can't do shit about it. We can embargo China which would destroy both of us in a matter of weeks. If we embargo China they will demand their $1.3T back, which we can't pay. If the US can't pay it's debt then the rest of the world won't take the US dollar seriously, crushing both the Chinese and US economy. Also if we straight up embargo China it might cause WW3.

 

Until the US pays back its debts and moves our forces back home from the rest of the world (especially the middle east), we can't go back into isolation and be a self sustaining country like we used to be. 

 

Basically Russia is untouchable by the US as long as they are allies with China due to our economic dependencies on each other.
