You can remove ads using a HOSTS file. Google is a good resource.

I'll help you out...

1) Run Notepad as administrator.

2) Go to Open then C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc and change the view to "All Files".

3) Open the HOSTS file.

4) At the very bottom, add the root of the website which you wish to block preceded by 127.0.0.1 (which prevents your computer from loading the ad and instead reroutes to your own computer).

For example, if the ad has the source "services.runescape.com/m=advert/showbanner.ws?size=728&country=-1"

(You can find the source by right clicking on the ad and then clicking on properties)

Add this to the bottom of the HOSTS file:

127.0.0.1 services.runescape.com

If you want a really easy way just play with the Firefox browser and use an ad-blocker which can be found on their website as an add-on for the purpose of pking. Then select the ads/website you do not want ads from.  :Hi:

The HOSTS method works in somewhat the same way as Adblock does. In addition, you can use it to block activators (such as those that come with Photoshop and the rest of the CS4 Master Suite) and get free software.

Wow that's a really helpful tool.  :nice:
