Windows 8 is failing to boot; every time I restart it I am given the Error Code of "0xc000000d" and it says 'Boot Configuration Data files are missing'.

Does anyone know of a way for me to fix it, or am I going to have to take it back.

I won't go past the recovery mode page, and the only button i get is press esc for UEFI firmware settings

You'll need to reboot from a recovery system, E.G. If you have a USB you could download the images and reinstall from the USB, or same thing with a disc.

(This will basically reimage your computer)

If you're not someone who knows how to fix these, I'd suggest taking it back and getting them to repair it for you.

How, though. This is all that I get:

Every website I've looked on says that this should show:

yet it doesn't..

any tips?

Basically, this option:

Although, if you take it to a store they'll probably trouble shoot reset, you could just do that since windows 8 reboots to factory settings, it will basically reset it to what you bought it as.

I know I need that option, but I'm not given the same recovery menu as that image :s

All I'm given is the option to acces my UEFI Firmware

Oh I see, you know when it boots, before it loads the operating system you will be given an option to go to settings/boot config, basically you can reset from there too.

(What you showed me is while it's loading the Operating system), you'll be given an option when it's loading.

I'm not given that option, it loads straight to that page.

Are there any shortcuts/keys I need to hold to go to boot config.

I've tried alt f8, alt f10, shift f8/10 etc.

When you first turn it on just spam press f2, it will take you to system setup.

i recommend rebooting from usb or cd wherever you have the windows 8 image at.

Change the boot from your main drive to cd/usb using bios, where yo uare currently

Do that if recovery fails or repair. And have windows 8 install with keeping the old files should you wish for it.

I don't know where the original USB/CD is, can I find a copy online anywhere?

The error is hex code that's there to let you know what the problem is

if you have a windows 8 cd just put it in and repair but if you don't then you might be able to get one off the internet but you'd need another computer

if all else fails you lose everything

Sorry, wen't AFK. With Windows 8 you don't get the disc anymore, it has it saved where you boot it from system setup, probably under advanced. Sorry, not really experienced with repairing Windows 8, although I do run Windows 8 myself I have had no problems :p Basically, yeh if you have a 8Gb USB you can download and reimage from the USB, however; I'm pretty sure you can reboot from the system setup. It might actually be in the BIOS (The UEFI Firmware settings). Goto the BIOS and show me what you can see ;P
