ESL One Katowice 2015 [Predictions thread]

So the first LAN major of the year starts tomorrow and ends on Sunday. Loved Katowice last year and I'm really looking forward to the games starting tomorrow.

 

Here are my predictions for this year. Would love to hear your predictions guys. Also if you are doing Pick'Em Challenge lemme know cause I am. I will most likely be betting on some games as well.

Group stages are bo1 with the top two teams moving on to the quarters. My predictions for the teams going through are:

 

A:Fnatic (1st) Na'vi (2nd)

B:Team ENVYUS (1st) Titan (2nd)

C: Ninjas in Pyjamas (1st) Hellraisers (2nd)

D: Virtus Pro (1st) TSM Kinguin (2nd)

 

Hard to say what the quarter final pairs will be, but my power rankings are as follows:

 

1. Team ENVYUS

2. Fnatic

3. Ninjas in Pyjamas

4. Titan

5.Virtus Pro

6. TSM Kinguin

7. Na'Vi

8. Hellraisers

 

Predicting that the first four on my list make the semis.

Hope VP win it. Think VP - Fnatic final, with NiP and nV going out in semis. Yet hard to predict, much more competition than in last majors. Teams like Titan, Na'Vi and TSM all have the ability aswell to get to semi's+.

Also hoping Vox / Kabum surprises, more worldwide competition would be great.

was right on 6/8 of the qualifiers, with Titan and Hellraisers going out in the group stage.

 

Biggest highlights of the day:

 

-Fnatic was absolutely unstoppable.

-Keyd Stars made it out from the groups.

-Clg and c9 both with huge ct side comebacks on de_nuke (ct sided, but still impressive coming back from 13-2)

 

Biggest upsets:

-Hellraisers not being able to close their games, with two close defeats being all they get from this major.

- Titan being eliminated in the groups. First game vs nV they put up a good fight, but got destroyed by PENTA on cache sending them home early.

 

Tomorrow it's time for 3 of the 4 quarter finals.

I think that Fnatic, VP, NiP, and nV will all move onwards as it's bo3 time and that leaves only little room for surprise. The better team almost always comes up on top.
