Phil Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I know most of you wont read this. Which is fine. Get dem plus ones in. This all started over 3 weeks ago now. I ordered a computer from QVC as I don't currently have one. The estimated delivery date was MAY 7TH and I ordered it on April 4th. Upon seeing that, I cancelled my order and placed an order for a nicer computer that would get here much sooner. 3 days later, QVC cancelled my order and deleted my account. I called customer support, and the first woman told me that someone was tampering with my account, so they closed it for my own security. 3 calls later, I'm told it was just a mistake. They helped me set up a new account and place a new order for the same computer. 3 days later, they cancelled my account AGAIN. Over the next week I called customer service at least 12 times. Every time I called, I got a different answer as to what happened. And instead of trying to fix my problem, they only tried offering me ways to work around it, which only prolonged the process. Finnnnaallly, I talked to a woman who had me kn hold for 25+ minutes, but came back immediately and told me what was wrong. This was ln the 16th. Almost two weeks after I placed my order. This should have happened DAY ONE of me having an issue! So, in order to solve my problem I needed to call their corporate offices. I was given a phone number, and spent the next FIVE DAYS trying to talk to an actual human. I only got answering machines telling me to leave my info. Nobody got back to me after leaving multiple messages. I finally get a hold of someone, and she helps me. Took 20 minutes. 20 fucking minutes to solve the problem. Again. This should have happened THREE weeks ago at this fucking point. The kicker? I sign back in after they reinstated my account, and just my luck... they don't offer the computer I wanted anymore! they literally unlisted it THE DAY they gave me my account back. I was ready to fucking ruin someone at this point. At this point I was forced to order a more expensive computer because all the other ones had horrible reviews and I wasn't dealing with that. I ordered this computer on the 24th, paid $27 dollars EXTRA for express shipping because it said it would arrive on the 30th as opposed to may 7th. Its now almost 5 days after placing that order, and it hasn't even shipped yet. Its supposed to be here in LESS than two days now. And I know I wont be able to get it by then. So I wasted extra money for shipping for no reason. I don't even know what to fucking think right now. Even just waiting on a package NORMALLY is torturous. To have gone through all this shit with their incompetent, unorganized company and to STILL be waiting is fucking awful. I'm absolutely fed up at this point Sorry for the rant. Just needed to vent. But my fucking god. I hope none of you EVER order a computer from this company! Pure garbage. you have been warned. If anyone actually read this... you da real MVP. Hold this W.
Thanos Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Next time they ask you to leave a message tell them you'll blow up their HQ if your pc doesn't arrive in a day See how fast the fucks will do something
Phil Posted April 29, 2015 Author Posted April 29, 2015 Next time they ask you to leave a message tell them you'll blow up their HQ if your pc doesn't arrive in a day See how fast the fucks will do something Lmfao. They have a woman who.operates their switchboard who directs calls. After the fifth day I finally told her "Listen, this ks getting ridiculous now. I'm about to contact the better business bureau" and I swear on my life, she put me RIGHT THROUGH to someone. Phone didn't even ring 5 times. Worst customer service ever.
Thanos Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Yeah just threaten a lo until you get someone on the line who can actually do something. It happened to me too once, lied about a blog that the delivery would postpone/fuck up because of their incomptence which would disappoint 10k readers. I could hear the sound barrier breaking with how quickly it was fixed.
d72 Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Honestly when it comes to PCs sometimes it's just flat out better to build one yourself lol, that's what I did at least

Phil Posted April 29, 2015 Author Posted April 29, 2015 The reason I ordered a computer from QVC is because they offer payment plans. After having just moved and recently getting a new job, I was more comfortable taking this route than shelling out hundreds of dollars at once. Plus I wouldn't even know where to begin when it comes to building my own computer. Or even ordering the parts for that matter. Not much of a techie
Lonnie Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Would have been better off just saving for a computer and paying cash up front lol. Bet your paying double what the computer is actually worth...just cause your making payments on it.

Its convenient and comfortable. But okay.
d72 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 (edited) How much did you pay? It seems complicated and really intimidating to make your own but it's honestly not a big deal once you get comfortable with everything. It's kind of like playing with lego. Expensive, delicate lego. I understand where you're coming from though with not wanting to shell out all sorts of money right away; I was the same way so I just kept buying different parts every second week till I had the whole thing ready to build. It seems tedious but it made for a great summer hobby, plus it was definitely worth all the effort in the end.If it wasn't too late I'd recommend you take a look at this before spending your money, because a big chunk of the charge that you pay for when you buy one premade is labor. http://imgur.com/gallery/ukFQc Edited April 30, 2015 by d72 | steal

This is also just something to hold me over. Its not a very nice computer compared to what a lot of people on here probably have. But, its better than being able to scape for 20 minutes a day. I really hate asking my girlfriend to use her computer so i keep my sessions really short lol. However, in the next two to three months, ill most likely sell it and then put that money towards a nicer set-up. Ill check the image you linked in just a minute. My phone wouldn't open it for some reason. Yeah my friend compared building a computer to adult legos lol. so I guess my main concern would be what exactly to order. How much do you think it would cost to build a relatively powerful Pc?
d72 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 You could probably get away with building a decent one for anywhere between $500-$600, I mean you'd hover around 40-45 fps in most high intensive games which isn't bad but I'm assuming it'd probably be more powerful than the one you bought. Plus the whole thing can be customized later on as you see fit. Do you have a list of the specs yours includes by any chance? Also check out r/buildapcforme or http://pcpartpicker.com/guide/ for some examples, they're pretty helpful especially if you have a tight budget.

Being that this website does payment plans, their computer selection ks typically pretty outdated. That's the real price you pay for the convenience, not twice the price like Zomg suggested. Ill go find the list of specs and post them. Oh, and I appreciate this by the way man. Really nice to hear what someone knowledgeable on the subject will have to say. Oh! And that imgur gallery is amazing. Im almost excited to build one now haha. One sec.

Before you make fun of me, Im VERY aware there are computers with much better specs for the price. But I'm trying to play 07scape which.. obviously doesn't need something very powerful to run lol. This was the best from the selection at my price range on the given site. Also note that $560 was the price after tax and spending a LOT of extra money on expedited shipping and a extra warranty thing that ill probably never use. d72 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Ooooo it's a laptop lol, I thought you bought a desktopI mean for RS and everyday stuff you're gonna be okay, it's got a lot of dated hardware in it though especially for the price. Is there any way you could return it for a refund? I think I found the same one on XoticPc for like half the price granted there's no payment plan with it. http://www.xoticpc.com/asus-k200mads01ts-p-8168.html

I think I found the same one on XoticPc for like half the price granted there's no payment plan with it. http://www.xoticpc.com/asus-k200mads01ts-p-8168.html Yeah that's the only problem with QVC. Dated technology. They mostly focus on women's clothing and jewelry and shit lol. That's only $70 cheaper than what I paid for the computer itself on QVC. It was listed at $399. Just, after tax and spending $30 on eexpress shipping and $100 something on an extended warranty, it came out to be much more. But I was willing to pay for the warranty just to play it safe. I bought an HP laptop a while back, and the hinges on it broke after 3 weeks of normal use. I sent it in to HP and they said I spilled something on it which voided my warranty, which was total bullshit. I was always careful. So I decoded to spend extra on a warranty just to be safe. It covers liquids, and User error. Such as me dropping it and breaking it and stuff..plus it lasts 3 years, so it was worth it in my opinion. Had I not got that, it would be very close to the price listed on that site. But for the convenience of payment plans I was willing to shell out a little extra money. Dude, I really appreciate all your input and help. Its so fucking nice of you. I bookmarked both links, and will be using them over the next few months. Going to start slowly ordering parts to build myself a nice set up:)
Jamie_ Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 fuck ordering a computer buld one saves the hastle. but gl with the order man

Phil Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 fuck ordering a computer buld one saves the hastle. but gl with the order man Thanks Jamie :) Also saw your other post, and that sounds about right. Id like to build something like you've got. Will probably be like $740 USD or something but that's still not bad. Going to be slowly ordering parts over the next few months to build a nice set up.
