Why are so many people doing ecstasy (or as retards call it "molly")?

It seems like more and more of my friends are doing this drug. A lot of them don't even realize what the fuck they're even doing. Honestly I'm not one to preach, but how the fuck do you take a drug and not know what it does to your body? Seriously what is wrong with people? Here's an example of a friend texting me 5 mins ago: (we'll call him joe)

joe: "Yo colin i just took molly last night!"

me: Cool dude what made you take E?

joe: what's e?

colin: ecstasy....?

joe: oh that's the same thing?

What ever happened to just smoking weed and drinking alcohol? Maybe the occasional opiate. Wtf is wrong with people these days do your fucking research.

Due to some of its chemical properties MDMA (the active ingedient in ecstasy that makes you "roll"), has a maximum purity level of around 84% I believe, and so needs something to bind to in order to remain a stable compound. Ecstasy pills are MDMA which is cut with another substance (anything from caffeine to meth and anything in between), and then pressed in to pill form. Originally, "Molly" was slang for pure MDMA with no adulterants, but the meaning of the word changed when it was introduced to pop culture and is now essentially a catch-all phrase for any drug supposedly containing MDMA. Most "molly" especially that which is sold at festivals isn't MDMA but some sketchy molecular analog.

Regardless, even pure MDMA is neurotoxic and like you said, isn't the best thing to put in your body. I've had my fun with it but nowadays stick to strictly bud and alcohol on occasion.

Basically I have friends who are "rolling" 2-3x a week. I'm the guy in the corner smoking a blunt I'm not innocent lol. Would it be wrong to say something? Is 2-3x a week necessarily bad?

Yes, 2-3x a week is bad, the way MDMA works is basically by releasing huuuuge amounts of serotonin, a neurotransmitter related to happiness/love/pleasure etc. If you do it more often than about twice a month (varies for everyone though) at most over a consistent span of time, it'll totally deplete your serotonin receptors, making you generally more depressed and lethargic. The damage is *sometimes* irreversible, and dependent on how frequent and extreme one's dosages.

if u get ur mandy off me ur fine

md would be legal 30~ times a year if drug legality was based on bodily harm :)

coke ftw tho regardless of risk

the amount of alcohol people who go out getting drunk without drugs consume on a regular basis is worse for u long term than taking md irregularly

"molly" anyways is more often than not some rando amphetamine

get a tester

and E is not more correct; E just refers to MDMA cut with god knows what

Let's not get into a drug conversation because you're okay with drinking which leads to cirrhosis but I'm sure you frown upon LSD or mushrooms
