Need some input from anyone tech savvy

For the past hour, my internet has been disconnecting literally every 45 seconds or so. It's only disconnecting long enough to kick me off in-game, but i can sign right back in again until it does it again a minute later. Thought the rest of my internet was fine, but im disconnecting from IRC now as well.

 

 

The only steps I know to take from past experiences would be to simply restart my internet connection, which I've done at least 5 times now. Hasn't helped me at all. I'm not getting any indication from my computer's signal that it's disconnecting... Usually when this happens I get the small exclamation sign over the signal connection icon, letting me know something's fucked up. Buuuut im not getting that at all. probably because im only dropping connection for a second or two at a time

 

 

Literally have no idea what I should do, or why it's even happening. It's rather infuriating. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

might be something wrong with your ISP.

 

I used to have this odd thing that my internet connection would just drop for like a minute at random intervals. Had it for a week or two, it just fixed itself later.

 

U can call them and ask if there are any known problems they're trying to fix, for me they said they knew their clients were having problems and were actively working to fix it.

It could be your ISP connection, but that you could call them and they can tell you remotely if there are problems with your line. Some other possibilities are your NIC card could be faulty if other devices are dropping connection and or your router or a cable that just may be a little faulty.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll give my ISP a call here shortly and see if they can tell me anything

 

 

Hopefully it stops just as randomly as it started, I really cant be fucked with this today. Literally the last thing I needed haha

Yeah check with your ISP first, although the same happened to me a while back & the router was dead, so I had to replace that. Apparently the hardware somehow get screwed up over night.

Call your isp and have them find out. You pay them so they are obligated to provide a working internet service.

Thanks for recommending that guys. Never called before, but they were able to do quite alot over the phone it seems. Weren't able to fix it, but they're coming out tomorrow to replace the modem or some shit. So hopefully that will fix things.
