TJ Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 so... you have no actual defense against what i said? No... of course not...
Nick. Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 If most of you are for God's "existence" then why do you play a game thats against every one of your beliefs? We are all apparently sinners... We kill... we steal... we commit gluttony... we worship [glow=red,2,300]other[/glow] gods besides "God". Hell some of us even support zamorak; which if you haven't noticed is the "devil", Saradomin is "Jesus/God", and Guthix is "Buddha"; which btw... if i am going to be involved with a religion, it would be Buddhism. (At least monks dont start wars) :victory: So, you all better hurry and go ask "Father" for forgiveness before its to late ;o OH, almost forgot, if your going to give me that "I dont worship those gods!" bull shit, then you can shove it. Because you all know you have at least once, worn and flaunted off some of Guth, Zam, or sara armor or robe or w.e the fuck else there is. Hmmm that felt delightful :) [glow=white,2,300]FUCK HATERS[/glow] I feel like I'm talking to a 12 year old here. 'We are all sinners.' Yes we are all sinners... It doesn' take a genius to work out that we are not perfect. I think that you need to stop blurting out what you think is righteous truth, and act more adult in such a personal discussion. And you're letting the non-believers side down tbh.
TJ Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 I don't believe in god lol... i'm just trying to sound as ridiculous as they do :wow:
Hunter94 Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 I believe more in Evolution then God. Evolution is already proved, God is still on the Myth side because there are not enough proven facts.
Nick. Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 It is frustrating that, being a Christian, people think we all believe in pure creation, like many places in America. I am a British Christian, and feel strongly that evolution and the big bang theory should be taught in schools. The theory of Evolution is more than plausable to me, as it can be deduced through the world around me. I would like to brake the mould of all Christians being against Science. There are many famous Scientists, such as the head member of the human genome project, who strongly believe in God. It boils down to whether you can comprehend your surroundings, and your origins, in a belief of a supreme creator, or take the faith in natural theories of the world. I for one, become confused when talking to clever people about the Big Bang theory. It seems that in an attempt to try and disprove any form of divine intervention, Some scientists talk of the 'energy bubble,' which appeared simply out of nothing. We still have a lot to learn about our origins, and even if, or when scientists fully understand the Big bang theory, religion will never be disproved. Here are a few arguments, posed by famous philosophers, about the existence of god: St Thomas Acquinas : 'There must be a first cause, as it is uncomprehensable for 0 + 0 + 0 to equal 1.' Pascal's idiom: 'It would be better to live a righteous life to find out an afterlife exists, rather than to spend a lifetime in ignorance, to end in hell.' The design theory: When aborigines found a watch, they didn't know who could create it, because of its complexity. When we find the world in our view, we use logic to think that there must have been an original maker, or creator. I respect religions, and do not judge people by their religion. I believe that many religions can positively effect the outlook of the character, providing their beliefs do not interfere in their unique understanding of the world. I hope that I have opened some people's minds into the ideas of many believers, Nick

I hope that I have opened some people's minds into the ideas of many believers, Nick I found the sentence I bolded in your quote the most interesting for some reason. Religion with never be disproved as you said but it will be questioned and God/Religion will always be questioned even if God is proven real or proven fake or even if there still trying to find out if God is real or not. Religion is a shit load of confusion to me. I guess you just have to sit down and be interested in a religion to really under stand it. I find some religions interesting and others not. Take Scientology as and example. It was created in 1953 and has a shit load of "members" and also has some of the craziest beliefs I have ever heard. Allot of celebs are "members" of Scientology Like, Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Will Smith, Jada Pinkett(Will Smiths wife.) and I think there are a couple more I'm missing. Any way, there are a couple other religions that are interesting to me I wont list them all because I don't feel like it but if you want me to ask me. I'm not interested in joining any of these religions its just that there interesting to me.
Hunter94 Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Scientology is a joke lolSome may think its a joke some may think other wise. Its the persons choice what to think about a religion. If you want to be a complete jerk and discriminate some one elses religion go ahead and do it. It just makes you look like an ass hole.
Nick. Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Just to say, in response to earlier comments which related to the history of many conflicts beginning with religion. It is purely ignorant to look back at the religiously-fuelled wars, and claim that religion has done nothing for the world. I do believe that people are takign History for granted. For an example, The Crusades was a war, fuelled by the belief, Dictated from the pope, that Jerusalem was the Christian's holy land. Because of this, thousands of people died in this constant battle. However, it is not thought that the Crusades was extremely beneficial to Europe, and what would later be the USA. This is WRONG, because the Crusades merged the current vague understanding which Christians had of medicine, with the Islamic approach. Because of the Crusades, Knights were able to return with the works of Hippocrates and Galen, Conveniantly translated into Latin by Avicenna of The Islamic Empire. As well, came the belief of Miasmas, and staying away from dirtier areas, as shown by Rhazes. This enabled huge progressions to be made, with the works of Harvey, Vesalius, and Pare, to influence our ideas of Anatomy, and general medicine. In conclusion, never look back at History, as there is MUCH more that meets the eye. I hope I have covered another point.
Nick. Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Sorry, I'm going post crazy here... I still haven't made my mind up about the beliefs of Scientology. As I said earlier, it is not what a religion dictates upon you, but your own interpretation of it. I have heard stories that Scientology has changed people's lives, but I have also heard about reasons for it to be a dangerous cult. My main worry for Scientology is in the whole concept of 'Audit' sessions, where lots of money is paid. I feel scared how the Church of Scientology can then afford to have such large personal buidlings for meetings. I will not talk any more. :)
TJ Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Scientology: The belief in alien gods.... that about explains it...

First of all I didn't say you were an ass hole I said It makes you look like an ass hole. And even if Tom Cruise is a "bigger asshole" how does that give you the right to discriminate a religion? And tell me how it would make more sense to be a Pastafarian?
Nick. Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Pastafarianism is simply an insult to all theistic religions. Rastafarianism is quite interesting , a branched off version of Christianity, were people are allowed to smoke weed :D Please guys, remember that this a sensitive topic, and strong points should be expressed in a more polite way pleasse.

TJ Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 Sounds like a shitty Religion to me... but thats just me... have fun getting arrested :)
d72 Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 You see, in Europe and most of Canada we view scientology as being retarded. It's hilarious that a large majority of the states actually takes the whole alien belief to heart. And your earlier comment on how we all sin, I can tell you straight up that I've never killed anyone, I've never stolen from a store, I've never cheated on someone, I can't really remember if I became a prostitute or not, and the list goes on. I don't think regular every-day people, even being atheist or agnostic, would not have any sort of conscience even when they're "free" to do those acts. Shit'll still put you behind bars regardless.
