Lonnie Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 (edited) Never really got into gaming on a computer. Bout to get a little chunk of money due to changing jobs and emptying retirement...and after we catch up on bills...gonna have some left. Been looking around on eBay and found a couple that sellers custom build to sell. This is the one I've been looking at: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMD-Gaming-Desktop-PC-Computer-4-2-GHz-16GB-New-Fast-Custom-Built-System-/151744046782 This one is also a possibility..has 8 gigs of ram and got him down to $400. Wanting something that can handle playing medium to high settings on games such as battlefield 4, GTA 5, and so on while using 2 monitors. Doesn't have to be the best or have the newest hardware. Does have to be windows 7 though. Edited August 11, 2015 by Lonnie
Coggy Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 If you emptied your retirement fund to catch up on bills, anything extra should be going back into savings.. no? Also i'd never buy second hand. 1
mlaK Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 i find it kind of disrespectful to the people who donated to you that you're posting on here about buying a computer.

That rig would work for games that don't require much, like cs go and league of legends, but I doubt it will run gta 5 or bf4. Edited August 12, 2015 by B L l l T Z
Lonnie Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) that looks dirty as shit, guy doesn't even look after his gear, wouldn't be surprised if the gpu experiences temp issues Thought the same...but guy showed me a video with it working on some 1st person shooter. If you emptied your retirement fund to catch up on bills, anything extra should be going back into savings.. no? Also i'd never buy second hand. Starting a new job tomorrow...they will be working everyone with a crap load of overtime, till holidays are over due to it being a meat processing plant. Plan on sticking money into savings so we dont run into issues anymore. Figured we would have a little fun with what we are getting outta retirement. Had a rough couple of months with me and the wife constantly down each others throats due to lack of sleep (thanks to a baby with colic) and the emotional roller coaster due to dad passing. i find it kind of disrespectful to the people who donated to you that you're posting on here about buying a computer. To get back and forth to a hospital about 2 hours from home about a month and a halfish ago. It did indeed put us behind and we were struggling hardcore with gas at the time which is what spurred it. ANYWAYS...that was then and this is now. Plan is simple...take our money out and put it towards catching everything up and doing repairs towards truck. Will end up having a little left...and this computer is on its way out. Scared to restart it lol...struggled to get it to boot up the last time I restarted it. SOOOOO wanting a computer...and not some cheap shit like this one that can barely keep 2 OSRS clients open with both running in fixed mode. Still puts me at 15-20 fps in non-populated areas. Unplayable around other people. Ran at about 20 fps pking with FOE with TS open. Dont care about whatever being 2nd hand...as long as its worth fixing if something messed up. The computer im running right now...is not worth fixing or upgrading. Edited August 12, 2015 by Lonnie

Pixel Pigeon Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 AMD is fucking dogshit, seriously avoid it at all costs. Even a top of the line model will be scraping above average and even if it is good for the moment, in 1-2 years it'll be terrible for gaming.

GFX Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 shouldnt of bought second hand not even that good either.
Rolexx Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) If you want a good PC that lasts for years, then buy a NEW pc, will cost you more, but atleast you'll be sure that it's good working. God knows what happened to that pc, it's always a risk buying it 2nd handed, in the end you'll end up losing more money (if the pc stops working after a year or so, you'll have to buy a new one anyways) -just my two cents. Lolsor Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Yeah, if i were you I'd wait a couple of months until you're steady in your new job before buying it
Murkin Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 This is something i made up real quick, its around $650~ not including an operating system which you can just get a torrent or buy a code cheap off g2a.com better than that dudes and would last you quite some time.
